(345854845)

20-07-2011 16.30
24645 spectators had come to
Gladiatorenes arena this cloudy day.
Ramses Van der Elst was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Orell Bialac and
Dänu Cleese.
A 4-5-1 alignment was the formation of choice for GLK.
Starters: Moon - Ontiveros, Ahonen, Gacki, Miller - Llimes, Yanez, Guyon, Poloni, Wiherkoski - Zahariev.
AllStars-WeHee had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation.
Lineup: Arendtsen - Pourpoutidis, Alico, Pérez, Laje - Koľada, Garros, Aliaga, Herreros - Pimentel, Passarell.
It was obvious that GLK were using their pressing skill as their primary tactic.
AllStars-WeHee's
C. Herreros was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 5 minutes.
Some things can only be learned through experience, and
D. Yanez should take his lesson to heart after nearly gifting AllStars-WeHee a goal with 17 minutes of the match played.
The visitors' central defence should have had no trouble clearing the pass to
J. Ontiveros, but the GLK player managed to shrug them off and fired a low shot past the keeper to give his team the lead. 1 - 0!
After 24 minutes, GLK sent a free kick in high over the penalty box. In what looked like a well-rehearsed move, the ball was headed backwards and reached
D. Yanez, who had plenty of space to place a well aimed shot - 2 - 0.
The teams went for the halftime break at 2 - 0.
GLK claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 72 percent.
G. Poloni left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 46 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead.
K. Bessenyei was the replacement.
With 59 minutes played, GLK put themselves up 3 - 0 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to
T. Zahariev, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home.
After 64 minutes,
J. Ontiveros sent the corner kick right to
T. Zahariev who headed it sharply past the keeper. 4 - 0!
After this, you could see that the players of GLK were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals.
GLK pressed their opponents, causing the game to be a bit of a stalemate at times.
The coach of GLK was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 75 minutes,
S. Ayral came on for
T. Zahariev.
AllStars-WeHee's
R. Laje left the field after 81 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was
T. van Bavel.
GLK's talent at pressing frustrated the spectators as the game became a dire midfield struggle.
Possession in this half belonged to GLK, who controlled the ball 74 percent of the time.
Most important GLK player was
S. Ayral.
On the other hand,
H. Moon's play was disheartening.
The most dominating AllStars-WeHee player was without a doubt
T. van Bavel.
M. Aliaga was a disappointment, however.
The match ends 4 - 0.
