previous 3/10 next 5/10  SampsottoshocK 5 - 0 brasati (350967117)

Clouds darkened the skies at Artax arena as 9606 spectators turned up for the match. Włodzimierz Filipowicz was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Nik van der Giessen and Eduardo Rey. SampsottoshocK tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. They fielded: Cecetto - Wermuth, Bellucci, Savander - Ciupitu, Gonçalves Domingues, Zanabria, Lamouille, Lucia - van der Tuuk, Bosvelt.

brasati started off with a 3-4-3 lineup. The following players had been chosen: Witte - Chianese, Sene, Tanque - Romualdi, Mészöly, Pinto, Bercini - Zaccari, Menascì, Kaviedes.

SampsottoshocK focused on getting players in position for long range shots. brasati tried to focus their attacks down the middle. Some things can only be learned through experience, and J. Mészöly should take his lesson to heart after nearly gifting SampsottoshocK a goal with 4 minutes of the match played. SampsottoshocK took the lead 9 minutes into the game by 1 - 0, as J. Savander elegantly received a long range pass through the middle, finishing off with a half-volley shot just below the bar. With 17 minutes played, SampsottoshocK put themselves up 2 - 0 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to E. Zanabria, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home. It was obvious that the tactic of the day for SampsottoshocK was to go for long shots, but in order to score they have to do better than the shooting attempt from T. Lucia after 26 minutes, which was a total failure. SampsottoshocK managed to extend their lead to 3 - 0 when H. van der Tuuk cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper. The teams went for the halftime break at 3 - 0. SampsottoshocK enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 69 percent of possession.

brasati needed a fresh pair of legs on the field, and after 55 minutes J. Mészöly made way for A. Belouchi. SampsottoshocK focused on finding shooting opportunities from distance and after 61 minutes C. Gonçalves Domingues fired off the big cannon, but the shot went sailing over the cross bar and into the car park. The bench was restless, and with 65 minutes passed brasati's coach gave T. Archetti the opportunity the player had been hoping for. M. Pinto reluctantly left the field. As the game started to slip away for brasati, the manager decided to change the tactical approach. SampsottoshocK put themselves up 4 - 0 when B. Ciupitu broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake. By now, the players in SampsottoshocK felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward. Although the whole team were struggling to impress, brasati's J. Bercini was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 74 minutes. M. Merz was given a chance to change things around. The head of P. Wermuth connected with a corner kick after 74 minutes, and the ball ended up with E. Zanabria of SampsottoshocK who blasted the ball into the net, making the score 5 - 0. C. Gonçalves Domingues had a fantastic opportunity to put SampsottoshocK up another goal 78 minutes into the match, but he fired just over the crossbar. Given a free kick in a difficult position after 79 minutes, SampsottoshocK tried a variation that they had practised in training. The kick was sent into the area just in front of the keeper. However, the defence were on their toes and allowed no space for a finish. brasati had no available replacements when N. Zaccari had to leave the game after 83 minutes because of a pulled tendon, leaving the team a man short. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by SampsottoshocK, with 71 percent of the ball.

C. Gonçalves Domingues performed admirably for SampsottoshocK. T. Lucia turned in a dismal performance, however. brasati's best player was G. Menascì. However, S. Witte made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 5 - 0.
