Bicocca were great at switching from defence to attack, and after 44 minutes, H. Hågensen swept through the middle on a counterattack, making the score 2 - 1. It was 2 - 1 at the break. Possession in this half belonged to Galatina, who controlled the ball 70 percent of the time.

64 minutes into the match, K. Fuglsang could have extended the lead, but his powerful free kick went just over the bar. The Bicocca players listened closely to their manager, as he gave new tactical instructions for the team. A magnificent combination in the middle resulted in Galatina's K. Fuglsang increasing the lead to 3 - 1. Players in Galatina heard their coach's words ringing in their ears and steered their central attacks to the wings instead. Galatina's T.
