previous 6/10 next 8/10  Gaviota 2 - 1 Pirata (352065282)

13500 spectators had come to La Gaviota Celtic Park this cloudy day. Kael Houlcroft was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Henk Anselmet and Walter Neidhardt. A 3-4-3 alignment was the formation of choice for Gaviota. Lineup: Şenyavaş - Vicioso, Roquer, Murillo - Bale, Yoon, Ulathah, Gorse - Ericeq, Hraboš, Agirre.

Pirata had chosen a strategic 3-4-3 formation. Starters: Veramme - Salvatore, Bauchamp, Barrio de Cascalla - Husaru, Puerta, Soler, Gros - Aav, Padrón, Zoydo.

2 minutes had elapsed when a great chance for Gaviota to take the lead after a good cross from the right found F. Roquer alone with the keeper, but he chipped it to the wrong side of the post. M. Gorse caused the crowd to go mental with his goal up the middle after 5 minutes. This gave Gaviota the 1 - 0 lead. Pirata's L. Salvatore got himself booked for a foul. E. Vicioso should probably have put his team up another goal after 15 minutes, but some great goalkeeping by S. Veramme kept the visitors in the game. It was 1 - 0 at the break. Possession in this half belonged to Gaviota, who controlled the ball 56 percent of the time.

Always quick on his feet, Pirata's X. Padrón sped down the field after 60 minutes, but his pass to G. Zoydo was just a bit too far ahead for him to get a good shot off. Pirata were close to putting the equaliser away after 79 minutes as the opposing defence lost control of the ball to L. Salvatore in a scuffle towards the left of the goal, but in the end the ball was cleared over the dead ball line. After 80 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by J. Hraboš might have resulted in another goal for Gaviota. However, S. Veramme made a spectacular save. The referee showed Pirata's Ş. Husaru the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. M. Ericeq of Gaviota had to be helped off the pitch as an injury meant he was unable to finish the game. I. Conill came in to finish the match. C. Yoon became the new Gaviota captain. Some brilliant football from the visitors' right wing resulted in a levelling of the score as Pirata's R. Puerta put the ball in the onion bag after 83 minutes to make it 1 - 1. After 85 minutes, M. Gorse came in from the right, feinted, then sped past the off-balance defender to make the score 2 - 1, giving Gaviota the lead. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Gaviota, with 51 percent of the ball.

Gaviota's best player was J. Hraboš. On the other hand, M. Bale's play was disheartening. Most important Pirata player was S. Veramme. S. Barrio de Cascalla on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 2 - 1.
