A scorching day at Altbier Arena, where 15801 spectators were in place for today's match. Naelio Villalón was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Jonas Sommarflod and Ruben Buassa. The head coach flashed hand signals from the sideline and Chaostruppe formed up in a 3-5-2 combination. Let's hope the opposing sideline wasn't filming that. They fielded: Brignon - Słowiński, Ilsø, Weinwurm - Casterman, Lebler, Pfeifenberger, Grebenhain, Van Hoof - Boxleitner, Windeck.

Gentlemen prefer blondes and Ziegenschlächter prefers a 5-3-2. Let's see how this plays out for them. The following players had been selected: Ellersdorffer - Hass, German, Maybanks, Badiola, Kriščiokaitis - Kruijt, Mengüç, Jizi - Klečšinský, Larra.

Chaostruppe were mostly trying to use their world class skill at attacking on the flanks. For their match strategy, Ziegenschlächter had decided to use their titanic ability to counter-attack whenever possible. Oh dear - the keeper's made a mess of that one. The crowd was very disappointed after he let Ž. Kriščiokaitis get the go-ahead goal with a speculative shot from the right after 18 minutes. 0 - 1. The game had been going for 34 minutes when A. Klečšinský broke through on the right, upping the score to 0 - 2 for Ziegenschlächter, much to the home crowd's dismay. After this, you could see that Ziegenschlächter's players were mostly interested in killing time and holding on to their lead. Ziegenschlächter had a great opportunity to score following a counter-attack after 37 minutes, but P. Kruijt's shot from the left sailed high over the bar. The home crowd was briefly mollified when D. Windeck reduced the lead to 1 - 2 after a brilliant midfield give-and-go through the middle. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, Ziegenschlächter's M. Mengüç got himself booked. The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 2. Chaostruppe were doing a good job holding on to the ball, with 57 percent of possession.

Several players seemed a little dazed by the warm weather, and were repeatedly tricked by the clever and agile K. Grebenhain. Chaostruppe's J. Pfeifenberger had to watch the rest of the game from the sidelines, after twisting his ankle with 72 minutes gone. J. Taisne was the replacement. Due to some great work on the right wing Chaostruppe's M. Casterman was able to even the score 75 minutes in to 2 - 2. A. Klečšinský found it hard to catch his breath today in the stifling heat. Ziegenschlächter's defense sent a ball soaring up the middle on a beautiful counter-attack with 88 minutes gone, but Ž. Kriščiokaitis's finish was met by the firm hands of the keeper. The visiting M. Hass was booed thoroughly by the home crowd 89 minutes into the game, after he broke through the middle and scored, resulting in the visitors taking the lead. 2 - 3 was the score. Ziegenschlächter's M. Hass received a ball slotted perfectly through the home side's central defense after 89 minutes, and chipped it past the helpless keeper to increase the lead to 2 - 4. The away fans won't regret traveling for this one! Looks like Nate Silver was right again - his prediction that Chaostruppe would have 55 percent possession in this half was spot on!

The most outstanding Chaostruppe player was without a doubt J. Lebler. You can tell it was nickel beer night yesterday at the local bar because B. Boxleitner seemed to stumble all over the pitch. Ziegenschlächter's top performer was clearly A. Larra. I can't remember Ž. Kriščiokaitis ever having a worse night than he just had. The match ends 2 - 4.
