Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 15175 to
KOPANISKO NAD WASZUTAMI.
Wolfgang Jannece was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Gunnar ''Hattas'' Pettersson and
Viljo Furuholm.
Waszuty tactics involved an interesting 3-4-3 combination.
The following players had been chosen: De Dionigi - Wywrocki, Ginestra, Versluis - Važgauskas, Veiga Neves, Andersson, Mazerant - Naklicki, Rolla, Deredas.
*nemesis* decided to use a 3-4-3 set up.
Starters: Sterligov - Lasagni, Świerczyński, Zapłata - Olendzki, Škrebo, Szopa, Sapata - Ponieważ, Gilabert, Duliński.
Waszuty used their ability to concentrate their attacks in the middle of the pitch, rather than on the wings.
*nemesis* seemed to prefer attacking in the middle.
The referee signaled a penalty for the home side after 4 minutes, amid vocal protests from the visitors. Waszuty fans erupted in celebration as
R. Ginestra rifled the ball into the the top corner. 1 - 0!
8 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as
Z. Veiga Neves broke through, making the score 2 - 0 for Waszuty.
Waszuty solidified their lead at the 10 minute mark, as
A. Andersson dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 3 - 0.
After several obvious shirt pulling incidents,
P. Lasagni got himself booked. The manager of *nemesis* was not happy.
After 18 minutes Waszuty's
K. Važgauskas limped slightly after a late challenge, but he was able to continue.
A bit later, *nemesis*'s
B. Gilabert easily reduced the lead to 3 - 1 after a misunderstanding in the home side's central defence.
Given a free kick in a difficult position after 32 minutes, *nemesis* tried a variation that they had practised in training. The kick was sent into the area just in front of the keeper. However, the defence were on their toes and allowed no space for a finish.
The teams went for the halftime break at 3 - 1.
Waszuty had most of the ball, with 53 percent of possession.
With 64 minutes played,
K. Ponieważ of *nemesis* fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving.
Waszuty's
R. Ginestra struck his penalty well enough to beat the goalkeeper and extend the home team's lead to 4 - 1 after 65 minutes.
M. Świerczyński of *nemesis* was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle.
Waszuty had a good opportunity to attack on the wing, but remembered their instructions to go for middle attacks.
Waszuty's
D. Mazerant saw his fine effort strike the top of the bar following some good work up the middle by his teammates after 81 minutes.
The visitors' right side was dangerous today;
P. Duliński made the home team's keeper look foolish as he easily reduced the lead to make it 4 - 2 83 minutes into the match.
Waszuty put themselves up 5 - 2 when
K. Deredas broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Waszuty, with 55 percent of the ball.
Waszuty's top performer was clearly
K. Deredas.
M. Wywrocki turned in a dismal performance, however.
Most important *nemesis* player was
I. Škrebo.
T. Olendzki on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The match ends 5 - 2.
