Weather conditions were fairly good for football, and FC Curtea de Arges Coloseum saw a crowd turnout of 37023. For their match strategy, TG had decided to use their ability to counter-attack whenever possible. A. Lefler looked to be heading one way when he unexpectedly passed the ball to V. Nežník. The move caught everyone off-guard, including his teammate, who panicked and kicked the ball out of play by accident. Curtea's F. Stritt was shown a yellow card after 34 minutes for slicing down an opponent. After 40 minutes, the defensive line of TG created a counterattack through the middle that gave B. Sleiman a good look at the goal, but his shot glanced harmlessly off the crossbar. Many thought L. Biagi ought to have been awarded a penalty 42 minutes into the game, as he went down trying to dribble around O. Benke after a determined run through the middle. With 43 minutes gone, a long pass from the defence of TG resulted in a counterattack that set B. Sleiman free through the middle, but the keeper made a spectacular diving save. M. Thompson finished off the counterattack of TG from the left rather easily, making the score 0 - 1. 0 - 1 was the halftime score. Possession in this half belonged to Curtea, who controlled the ball 55 percent of the time.

With a shot curled in from just outside the middle of the penalty area after 51 minutes played, L. Biagi of Curtea made the score 1 - 1. It was obvious that team Curtea had instructions to attack in the middle instead of on the wings. Curtea claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 53 percent.

Most important Curtea player was V. Milutinović. P. Sorgiovanni on the other hand, had a terrible day. The most dominating TG player was without a doubt M. Thompson. R. Tovar turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 1 - 1.
