Dobr 3 - 7 Knights

Weather conditions were fairly good for football, and Dobrčice Arena saw a crowd turnout of 24707. Rodolfo Papini was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Traian Sfetcu and Olek Latkowski. Dobr started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. Starters: Toppel - Srea, Løgstrup, Spiegel - von Hirschhausen, Calligaro, Grond, Gherman, Cadorel - Arabella, Vargas.

Knights tactics involved an interesting 2-5-3 combination. Lineup: Ventura Rodrigues - Baratier, Vinţan - Şchiopu, Lista, Maddii, Ivy, Fortão - Veselý, Pittner, Pohořelý.

Underestimation of the opposition made Knights players perform way below their normal capacity. Knights took the lead after 3 minutes making the score 0 - 1. L. Lista placed the ball out of reach for the home side's keeper after a fine move, coming in from the left. Some fine movement on the left led to a Knights goal after 33 minutes, making it 0 - 2. O. Pohořelý was noted down as the scorer. Dobr's K. von Hirschhausen got the home crowd going when he finished off a left wing charge, reducing the away team's lead to 1 - 2. A. Ivy received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 40 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 1 - 3. The Knights fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early. What was E. Maddii thinking? That's what everyone wondered when, for no apparent reason, he shot a cross pass over his own penalty area, giving J. Vargas an extra chance, but unfortunately for Dobr, he didn't get the shot right. Dobr's J. Vargas has the wonderful ability to create chances out of thin air. 42 minutes into the match he bamboozled a couple of opposition defenders before sending the keeper the wrong way and sidefooting the ball home into an empty net. That totally unexpected burst of flair made it 2 - 3. With 43 minutes having been played, Dobr scored to make it 3 - 3. A dribble down the left wing, followed by a shot which took a wicked bounce off a defender resulted in the keeper having no chance. Everyone thought it'd been an own goal, but J. Vargas was marked down as the scorer. Knights's L. Lista gave the visitors a 3 - 4 lead after 44 minutes with a superb strike from the right. 3 - 4 was the halftime score. Knights had most of the ball, with 56 percent of possession.

As the match resumes, Knights seemed to be a little less carefree than during the first half. They realised this would be necessary if they wanted to defend their fragile lead. With 48 minutes gone, Knights had a free kick in a decent position. Despite this being a great chance for a shot, they tried a cheeky move intended to bypass the defence. However, M. Baratier did not manage to connect with it cleanly and the ball went out. No matter how hard he tried, J. Cadorel just couldn't get his shot past the visitors' right side defence after 57 minutes. After 58 minutes, Knights's O. Pohořelý burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 3 - 5. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave J. Cadorel from Dobr a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 62 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! The home crowd was not impressed when E. Maddii came in from the right, shooting hard to score after 67 minutes. Knights were now up 3 - 6. With 69 minutes played, a quick exchange of passes on the left wing freed L. Lista of Knights to slip through the defence and score another goal for the visitors. That made the score 3 - 7. By then L. Lista had scored three goals - a hat trick! Knights's A. Ivy was shown a yellow card after 77 minutes for slicing down an opponent. Possession in this half belonged to Knights, who controlled the ball 57 percent of the time.

Most important Dobr player was J. Arabella. J. Gherman on the other hand, had a terrible day. Knights's top performer was clearly F. Pittner. V. Şchiopu was a disappointment, however. The match ends 3 - 7.
