Weather conditions were fairly good for football, and Estádio Univers saw a crowd turnout of 38150. Arne Oberrauner was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Philip Dueholm and Bogdan Popescu. A 5-3-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Universidad. Coufalík found a gap in the home side's central defence and scored with a fabulous shot, making it 1 - 1. D. Apostolache of Universidad received a yellow card after 14 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. B. Næss had a good try after 28 minutes, coming in on a fine move from the left, but the ball went wide. 34 minutes into the match, Slivers nearly took the lead, as O. Coufalík broke through on the right. M. Silva made the save, however. K. Gami was in the clear after breaking the offside trap following a Universidad counterattack from the left after 35 minutes. His neat finish made the score 2 - 1. O. Prokůpek made a good effort at breaking through on the right, but the home team's left defence cleared the ball to a corner. 2 - 1 was the score after the first half. Slivers enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 66 percent of possession.

An equalising goal was close at hand, but N. Augustyns clipped a free kick just wide of the goal. K. Gami stunned the crowd with a brilliant counterattack from the left, giving Universidad the goal to make it 3 - 1. Having been awarded a free kick in an awkward position after 68 minutes, Slivers did not go for a shot but instead fired the ball hard into the 6 yard box. After a brief tussle with his marker, F. Fraternale was able to power the ball past the keeper to make the score 3 - 2. The referee showed Slivers's O. Coufalík the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Universidad's T. Jakubec got himself booked for a foul. It was obvious that Slivers had instructions to attack on the wings instead of in the middle. V. Louženský finished off a quick charge from the left of the field by chipping the ball just past the home side's keeper, making the score 3 - 3 80 minutes into the match. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Slivers, with 66 percent of the ball.

Most important Universidad player was D. Apostolache. M. Silva on the other hand, had a terrible day. Slivers's top performer was clearly F. Barrutieta. A. Gordillo was a disappointment, however. The match ends 3 - 3.
