The 52943 spectators at
Romito's Park were in for an afternoon of sunshine.
Rico Hoogweg was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Petru Dumitriu and
Parmenio Lozada.
Romito started off with a 3-5-2 lineup.
They fielded: Ðuričić - Lozinšek, Mennella, Aloisi - De Girolamo, Caldara, Vender, Mosca, Echalar - Verini, Säfstedt.
Alce had chosen a strategic 2-5-3 formation.
The following players had been chosen: De Matteis - Assanelli, Alfieri - Sommaren, Capacci, Raugei, Rizzetto, Paredes - Månsson, Cervi, Archetti.
The sun seemed to put
G. Vender in a great mood, and he showed off his technical skills all match long.
The visitors' central defence should have had no trouble clearing the pass to
E. Verini, but the Romito player managed to shrug them off and fired a low shot past the keeper to give his team the lead. 1 - 0!
After 28 minutes Alce's
L. Månsson limped slightly after a late challenge, but he was able to continue.
Cheers filled the stadium as
G. Vender broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 2 - 0 to Romito.
At this point, it was obvious that the players of Romito lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented.
After 34 minutes, the away team failed to deal with a good exchange of passes on the right, and
C. De Girolamo gave the Romito supporters even more to cheer about when he increased the lead to 3 - 0.
3 - 0 was the halftime score.
Possession in this half belonged to Romito, who controlled the ball 51 percent of the time.
C. Rizzetto nearly reduced the lead 60 minutes into the game, but a splendid one-handed save by
Z. Ðuričić prevented the attempt coming in from the right flank from hitting the back of the net.
The referee showed Alce's
A. Paredes the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge.
Unfortunately for Romito,
M. Caldara was injured when the game became more physical, and he had to leave the field.
L. Falzone replaced him.
The coach of Romito was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 68 minutes,
P. Gilardoni came on for
E. Verini.

After 68 minutes,

The Romito coach was visibly pleased with the score so far, but still ordered a few tactical changes 75 minutes into the game.
Romito's
S. Lozinšek increased the lead to 5 - 0, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 81 minutes.
A bit later, Alce's
E. Archetti easily reduced the lead to 5 - 1 after a misunderstanding in the home side's central defence.
Romito's
S. Echalar was shown a yellow card after 83 minutes for slicing down an opponent.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Alce, with 51 percent of the ball.
The most dominating Romito player was without a doubt
G. Vender.

A. Paredes was a disappointment, however.
The match ends 5 - 1.
