previous 10/10 next 2/10  Suicho 2 - 4 laseconda (366157717)

Clear skies welcomed the 13979 spectators who had made their way to Estadio de Annique. Ewoud Gerlich was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Axel Verin and Patrik Ekenmo. Suicho tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. The following players took the field: Sitzia - Duchâteau, Satto, Hechenblaikner - Flagiello, Orucov, Cieminski, Hansoul, Filomarino - Kratky, Pilloni.

laseconda started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. The following players had been chosen: Gunson - Bojdo, De Castro, Meckrodt - Lambertini, Pollak, Cacà, Hükmi, Jaroudi - van den Beukel, Recciuc.

Today, Suicho's strategy involved concentrating on the flanks for their attacks. Suicho were determined to attack on the wing and their central attempts were constantly abandoned in favour of the wings. laseconda's N. Jaroudi was shown a yellow card after 24 minutes for slicing down an opponent. Unfortunately for Suicho, E. Satto was injured when the game became more physical, and he had to leave the field. S. Brasini replaced him. J. Kratky was the new captain of Suicho - handed the armband by the departing player. The home crowd breathed a collective sigh of relief when P. Recciuc was unable to put the ball in the net after his show of skill down the left 26 minutes into the match. He was seen beating the pitch in frustration at missing such a good chance to give his team the lead! G. Lambertini sailed high above the opponents as he headed in a corner kick from N. Jaroudi after 28 minutes of play, making the score 0 - 1. A handball in the penalty area gave the home team a penalty 29 minutes into the match, and T. Pilloni was able to score, taking the scoreline to 1 - 1. After 30 minutes N. Jaroudi made a speedy advance and dropped the ball to P. Recciuc who shuffled it past the keeper. The score was now 1 - 2. 1 - 2 was the halftime score. Possession in this half belonged to Suicho, who controlled the ball 53 percent of the time.

With 57 minutes played, a quick exchange of passes on the left wing freed N. Jaroudi of laseconda to slip through the defence and score another goal for the visitors. That made the score 1 - 3. Sensing defeat in the air, the Suicho manager directed T. Pilloni and J. Kratky to change positions with each other. This was 58 minutes into the match. Still trailing on the score board, Suicho adjusted their tactics after 58 minutes. J. Kratky had a quick chat at the side line, then switched positions with M. Filomarino. The bench was restless, and with 59 minutes passed Suicho's coach gave C. Grasset the opportunity the player had been hoping for. M. Filomarino reluctantly left the field. Suicho needed a fresh pair of legs on the field, and after 59 minutes T. Pilloni made way for Â. Coelho. The Suicho players listened closely to their manager, as he gave new tactical instructions for the team. Given a free kick close to the byline, laseconda tried a move that loyal fans may recognise from training. A pass to the side pulled the defence out of position which let P. Recciuc slip through on goal. He didn't have to break his stride, and slipped the ball past the keeper to make it 1 - 4, 65 minutes into the game. A marvellous Suicho effort on the right-hand side resulted in a goal after 68 minutes by C. Grasset, making the score 2 - 4. Had it not been for one of the home defenders, M. Pollak would have put laseconda up another goal 69 minutes into the match with his audacious lob from the right wing. 79 minutes into the game, laseconda worked the left side industriously creating several opportunities to add to their lead, but just couldn't apply the finishing touch. laseconda claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 52 percent.

Suicho's best player was P. Hansoul. On the other hand, J. Hechenblaikner's play was disheartening. Most important laseconda player was P. Recciuc. However, A. Hükmi made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 2 - 4.
