Figino 3 - 1 Calabria
(366160952)

31-03-2012 12.30
Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 19221 to
Figino's Arena.
Florian Roggenbucke was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Ronald Pangkali Saputra and
Raúl de la Mata.
People from all over
Lombardia had joined up for the derby.
Figino tactics involved an interesting 4-5-1 combination.
The following players had been chosen: Seljeseth - Girard, Portillo, Garaz, Scarzanella - Bergianti, Fort, Harth, Muzaku, Floeter - Wilmar.
Calabria decided to use a 3-5-2 set up.
Lineup: Kurłowicz - Pollarikoski, Võsu, Signer - Schwabach, Pirlo, Roncari, Ya'akobovitch, Lagerberg - Mendelssohn, Agliati.
Figino saw most attack opportunities on the wings.
Attacking on the wings was the choice for Figino, and they were successfully passing the ball from the middle to the wings to attack.
The home side put themselves ahead 1 - 0 after 6 minutes courtesy of a breakthrough from
M. Wilmar, who scored with a stunning volley following a cross from the right wing.
Figino's
E. Floeter was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 18 minutes.
Figino put in a good effort on the right, but
E. Floeter saw his volley fly wide of the mark 25 minutes into the game.
A. Mendelssohn made a good effort at breaking through on the right, but the home team's left defence cleared the ball to a corner.
Figino's defence sent a ball soaring up the middle on a beautiful counterattack with 39 minutes gone, but
G. Muzaku's finish was met by the reaching hands of the keeper.
After 40 minutes a very unfortunate collision in the penalty area led to Figino's
S. Harth being carried off the pitch and replaced by
E. Dammtor.
Halftime score was 1 - 0.
Calabria had most of the ball, with 55 percent of possession.
After 54 minutes, Calabria sent a free kick in high over the penalty box. In what looked like a well-rehearsed move, the ball was headed backwards and reached
A. Mendelssohn, who had plenty of space to place a well aimed shot - 1 - 1.
58 minutes into the match and the home team took a 2 - 1 lead after breaking through on the left. The scorer for Figino was
E. Dammtor.
In a rapid move 63 minutes into the match,
S. Bergianti of Figino lost his man and passed the ball to the unmarked
M. Wilmar who easily hit it home to make it 3 - 1. Luckily the ref didn't see him taunting the opposing fans in celebration - naughty boy!
After several obvious shirt pulling incidents,
S. Pirlo got himself booked. The manager of Calabria was not happy.
After 76 minutes, a counter attack by Figino was converted into a decent free kick opportunity. However, the indirect free kick routine was easily anticipated by the defenders. A textbook example of how to defend a free kick - the attackers were left with few viable options.
Calabria claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 54 percent.
Most important Figino player was
G. Muzaku.
E. Seljeseth turned in a dismal performance, however.
Calabria's top performer was clearly
S. Pirlo.
On the other hand,
V. Lagerberg's play was disheartening.
The match ends 3 - 1.
