Weather conditions were fairly good for football, and
BIOFOX ALPEN STADIUM saw a crowd turnout of 24813.
Per Hörmo was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Nicolas Brami and
Jordi Díaz de la Serna.
BIOFOX had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation.
The following players had been chosen: De Francesco - Mamalakis, Gaudre, Post - Anderen, Beldam, Medeot, Beentjes, Kjeldsen - Uddlind, Vesnaver.
A 5-3-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Salernitara.
Lineup: Perrotta - D'Agostino, Montecucco, Ronzoni, Dussi, Beltramme - Macina, Rinnaudo, Barbatelli - Pettinato, Carlea.
The wings were the focus of most of BIOFOX's attacks today.
With 4 minutes played, seemingly due to lack of experience,
J. Beentjes needlessly tripped an opponent just outside the penalty area, but the free kick that followed didn't succeed.
After some beautiful movement down the left wing,
P. Anderen scored for BIOFOX putting them ahead 1 - 0, after 15 minutes.
E. Pettinato sailed high above the opponents as he headed in a corner kick from
S. Montecucco after 20 minutes of play, making the score 1 - 1.
BIOFOX had a good opportunity to take the lead as
C. Beldam came up the left side, but he struck the ball weakly and it went straight into the arms of
M. Perrotta.
Salernitara had to make a substitution after 26 minutes.
E. Beltramme limped off the field and was replaced by
G. Belfanti.
BIOFOX had a chance to take the lead after
S. Vesnaver's dazzling drive up the left, but the opportunity fizzled out as his shot went just over the bar after 34 minutes.
36 minutes into the match and the home team took a 2 - 1 lead after breaking through on the left. The scorer for BIOFOX was
S. Vesnaver.
BIOFOX had a good opportunity to attack in the middle, but remembered their instructions to focus on wing attacks instead.
With 38 minutes played,
T. Uddlind could have brought this one home for BIOFOX as he charged up on the left, but his hooked ball went just a bit too high.
2 - 1 was the score after the first half.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by BIOFOX, with 55 percent of the ball.
BIOFOX's
J. Beentjes had an excellent opportunity after 48 minutes, shooting after receiving a pass from the right hand side, but he missed the goal by miles!
Content with how the game was proceeding, the BIOFOX coach let
S. Frankenforst replace
P. Anderen after 50 minutes.
Attacking on the wings was the choice for BIOFOX, and they were successfully passing the ball from the middle to the wings to attack.
BIOFOX put themselves up 3 - 1 when
S. Vesnaver broke through on the right, leaving the entire defence trailing in his wake.
After this, you could see that the players of BIOFOX were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals.
G. Belfanti had a couple of good opportunities to reply, but the home team's keeper
G. De Francesco was simply unbeatable.
B. Gaudre wanted to play on, but the BIOFOX coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 60 minutes into the game by
E. Varano.
BIOFOX enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 52 percent of possession.
S. Vesnaver performed admirably for BIOFOX.
On the other hand,
G. De Francesco's play was disheartening.
Most important Salernitara player was
F. Carlea.
S. Montecucco on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The match ends 3 - 1.
