The weather was pretty good, and a crowd of 19000 had shown up at Real Gnappo Arena for the match. Zaniolo could have put Gnappo into the lead after 26 minutes, but the free kick went just wide. Orero's S. Khalid was shown a yellow card after 27 minutes for slicing down an opponent. With 34 minutes played V. Brannetti almost put the home team one ahead on a cross coming in from the right, but the shot went just wide. S. Khalid of Orero got sent off for kicking the ball after the whistle, a completely uncalled for move, earning him his second yellow card of the game. Many thought S. Seymus ought to have been awarded a penalty 40 minutes into the game, as he went down trying to dribble around R. Czerpak after a determined run through the middle. Halftime score was 0 - 0. Gnappo claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 54 percent.

After 61 minutes, Orero's E. Catalano made his way through the middle and nonchalantly placed the ball out of the keeper's reach, putting the visitors up 0 - 1. The crowd was on its feet 65 minutes into the match, as Gnappo's G. Panepinto found himself unmarked in front of the goal after a dash up the left side. He calmly put away the 1 - 1 equaliser. After a fine move down the middle D. Marques nearly gave the home side a goal after 70 minutes. However the finishing shot went just wide. 75 minutes into the match, the Orero manager wanted to try a new tactic, and the players loyally obliged. 78 minutes had elapsed when a great chance for Gnappo to take the lead after a good cross from the right found S. Seymus alone with the keeper, but he chipped it to the wrong side of the post. Orero's R. Henriksen got himself booked for a foul. Unfortunately for Gnappo, G. Panepinto was injured when the game became more physical, and he had to leave the field. D. Pizzotti replaced him. Some quick footwork on the left side of the field 81 minutes into the match left Orero's K. Móritz completely free to score. 1 - 2 for the visitors. Possession of the ball saw an equal split between the teams during the forty-five minutes.

Most important Gnappo player was M. Frezzolino. However, D. Pizzotti made a disastrous appearance. P. Fedeli performed admirably for Orero. On the other hand, M. Lewskär's play was disheartening. The match ends 1 - 2.
