previous 1/4 next 3/4  Kaizen 1 - 0 Debeli (367038505)

The 78029 fans in attendance at NK Kaizen Arena were roasting in the hot sun. Dietbert Hackstock was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Kuzman Kolev and Roberto Accardi. Kaizen started off with a 4-5-1 lineup. The following players took the field: Debelak - Brøðraberg, Messinger, Kosmač, Sukič - MacElroy, Belokranjc, Župan, Diestelhäuser, Denys - Železen.

Debeli had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. Lineup: Clanachan - D'Anversa, Anú, Boffi - Zani, Rupar, Mikeš, Balent, Peterlin - Goncalves, Javnik.

Debeli saw most attack opportunities on the wings. Kaizen were very close to putting themselves one up after 10 minutes as A. Kosmač got through on the left, but failing in concentration, he shot the ball wide. It was a hot and sunny day, and several players seemed worn out. Maybe this was why L. Železen found an unusual amount of space for his snappy footwork. It was obvious that Debeli had instructions to attack on the wings instead of in the middle. Attacking on the wings was the choice for Debeli, and they were successfully passing the ball from the middle to the wings to attack. Debeli's M. Boffi could have put the guests one up after 32 minutes after chasing a through ball from the right, but S. Debelak was as fast as a snake, grabbing the ball from under his nose. A spectacular volley from A. Kosmač almost resulted in a goal, but a good save from the keeper kept it out, and L. Železen could only knock the loose ball wide. It was 0 - 0 at the break. Debeli enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 58 percent of possession.

66 minutes into the match, the referee signalled for a Debeli substitution. S. Ñaupari came on for M. Boffi. 70 minutes into the game, Kaizen wanted to bring some new energy to their game. A. Kosmač gave Y. Intzes a quick hug as he left the field. After 72 minutes, the Kaizen coach wanted to see a new face on the pitch, waving T. Sukič off the field. M. Velkavrh took his place. M. MacElroy would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise. T. Rebolledo entered the game for Kaizen as the match clock showed 75 minutes. They were singing the praises of B. Župan 86 minutes into the match after his speculative chip from the middle of the penalty box found its way over the visitors' keeper to make the score 1 - 0 to Kaizen. Debeli had a good opportunity to attack in the middle, but remembered their instructions to focus on wing attacks instead. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Debeli, with 56 percent of the ball.

The most dominating Kaizen player was without a doubt D. Messinger. P. Denys was a disappointment, however. B. Rupar performed admirably for Debeli. However, V. Peterlin made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 1 - 0.
