previous 3/10 next 5/10  Cedron 0 - 2 FCMiret (367405197)

It had rained all day, but 31242 hardy fans still made it out to La besada. Luciano Bloato was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Kusi Mauntler and Martti Kerman. Cedron started off with a 4-5-1 lineup. The following players had been chosen: Ardelean - Torres Barona, Comes, Moñino, Lidón Jiménez - Petre, Dodier, Rubio Marín, Marsó, Lechowski - González Sepúlveda.

A 4-5-1 alignment was the formation of choice for FCMiret. Lineup: Lankester - Pellisé, Barucha, Ríos García, Dingsdag - Văleanu, Kliment, Baliño, catalán de Ocón, Kressin - Josefsson.

Counter-attacking seemed to be the preferred strategy of FCMiret. After 21 minutes, the defensive line of FCMiret created a counterattack through the middle that gave Á. Kliment a good look at the goal, but his shot glanced harmlessly off the crossbar. FCMiret's S. Baliño refused to leave the field after injuring his achilles tendon after 25 minutes. FCMiret's A. Dingsdag managed to lose the defenders as he advanced down the right wing and scored, putting the visitors ahead after 26 minutes. 0 - 1. Halftime score was 0 - 1. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Cedron, with 56 percent of the ball.

52 minutes into the game FCMiret managed a counterattack, but M. Josefsson took a soft shot from the left flank that was easy prey for the alert keeper. The boggy pitch disrupted the game, especially for technical players like M. Lidón Jiménez. The referee signalled a penalty 62 minutes into the game following an offence which looked like it was outside the box. E. catalán de Ocón knocked it home to make the score 0 - 2. Confident in their lead, FCMiret's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave M. Josefsson from FCMiret a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 73 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! The muddy pitch made the game a gritty affair, which seemed to suit S. Baliño just fine. After 89 minutes, a counter attack by FCMiret was converted into a decent free kick opportunity. However, the indirect free kick routine was easily anticipated by the defenders. A textbook example of how to defend a free kick - the attackers were left with few viable options. Á. González Sepúlveda always provides an aerial threat at corners, and with 89 minutes gone, he demonstrated this, outjumping his marker, then letting out an anguished howl as his powerful header went narrowly wide. Cedron had most of the ball, with 52 percent of possession.

Cedron's best player was D. Ardelean. J. Comes was a disappointment, however. FCMiret's top performer was clearly R. Barucha. V. Pellisé on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 0 - 2.
