Empor 1 - 7 Kadaver
(369155410)

19-05-2012 18.50
Clear skies welcomed the 6887 spectators who had made their way to
TSV Empor-Birne Arena.
Trond Berg was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Hermann Kaltseis and
Jeronimo Miquel.
Empor had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation.
Lineup: Brabandt - Pauli, Stöckli, Mülbe, Krauße - Elstner, Sögel, Hunebald, Röddingsmarkt - Reinhart, Anrath.
A 4-4-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Kadaver.
Starters: von Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg - Kuderna, Köhn, Bachfischer, Guisbo - Brunskroog, Horisberger, Schleifenlehner, Hanenschild - Schönmetz, Duchon.
Kadaver demonstrated their creative tactics on the field.
The terraces were silenced after 12 minutes when Kadaver's
A. Brunskroog put the guests ahead 0 - 1, following an attack on the right.
Some things can only be learned through experience, and
A. Kuderna should take his lesson to heart after nearly gifting Empor a goal with 13 minutes of the match played.
With 18 minutes played, a quick exchange of passes on the left wing freed
H. Duchon of Kadaver to slip through the defence and score another goal for the visitors. That made the score 0 - 2.
By now, the players in Kadaver felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward.
Kadaver's
M. Horisberger got himself booked for a foul.
Almost all the way down to the corner flag, Empor's
M. Röddingsmarkt somehow managed to get a perfect pass into the middle, impossible to miss for
O. Elstner, who struck for 1 - 2.
Some fine movement on the left led to a Kadaver goal after 40 minutes, making it 1 - 3.
A. Brunskroog was noted down as the scorer.
Halftime score was 1 - 3.
Kadaver had most of the ball, with 73 percent of possession.
After 50 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave
H. Duchon a chance to increase the lead for Kadaver, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 1 - 4.
The home crowd cheered when, after 54 minutes,
T. Schönmetz's charge up the middle resulted in the keeper making one of his best saves of the day.
The referee showed Empor's
G. Krauße the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge.
The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave
B. Hanenschild from Kadaver a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 64 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient!
A drive down the left side allowed
H. Duchon to get in close and score another goal for Kadaver after 70 minutes, taking the score to 1 - 5.
That made three goals for
H. Duchon and he was marked down for the hat trick.
Empor's
T. Pauli was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 74 minutes.
The Kadaver free kick 79 minutes into the match seemed wasted, as the shot was both short and off target. But was this actually a plan? The ball landed at the feet of
T. Schönmetz, who was completely unmarked in the box. That's 1 - 6!
Kadaver increased their lead after 81 minutes when
L. Guisbo broke through on the right, upping the score to 1 - 7, much to the home crowd's dismay.
Kadaver claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 78 percent.
Empor's best player was
J. Mülbe.
However,
H. Brabandt made a disastrous appearance.
Most important Kadaver player was
T. Schönmetz.
N. von Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The match ends 1 - 7.
