That was far too lenient! O. Håkansson caused the crowd to go mental with his goal up the middle after 35 minutes. This gave Langenhagen the 2 - 1 lead. With 36 minutes played, Langenhagen put themselves up 3 - 1 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to M. Mohan, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home. Halftime score was 3 - 1. Langenhagen enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 77 percent of possession.

The coach gave his players an extra tactical briefing during the break, and after that Langenhagen had solid organisation. Things were going to get worse for the visitors. B. Meehan increased the lead to 5 - 1, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 76 minutes. W. Sommerfeld increased the lead for Langenhagen to 6 - 1, getting a head onto a hooked ball from the right. The ball looked to have taken a deflection on the way in, but he's claiming it! By now, the players in Langenhagen felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward. 81 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as İ.
