(369183740)

21-04-2012 18.50
Dark skies made the crowd of 5323 at
SCL Arena a little nervous, but the rain held off.
Diant Colenbrander was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Yvo de Grip and
Cristian Spirea.
A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Langenhagen.
The following players took the field: Briechle - Sommerfeld, Iudri, Käsbohrer - Weissenseel, Yahalom, Meehan, Håkansson, Rotar - Mohan, Aykaş.
DixieKnights tactics involved an interesting 4-4-2 combination.
Lineup: Forstandlechner - Diedrich, Balve, Plunkett, Tryller - Spindler, Harras, Zuckermayr, Bluhm - Aydin, Kosnopfl.
The home side put themselves ahead 1 - 0 after 15 minutes courtesy of a breakthrough from
B. Iudri, who scored with a stunning volley following a cross from the right wing.
Coming from the right,
İ. Aykaş almost managed to score another goal for Langenhagen, but his header was tipped over the bar by the visitors' keeper.
29 minutes in, Langenhagen appeared unsure on how to play and their organisation was only
inadequate.
A corner kick created great disorder in the penalty area with a goal nearly scored by
J. Aydin. At last, DixieKnights's
F. Spindler was able to backheel the ball in. 1 - 1.
The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave
J. Aydin from DixieKnights a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 34 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient!
O. Håkansson caused the crowd to go mental with his goal up the middle after 35 minutes. This gave Langenhagen the 2 - 1 lead.
With 36 minutes played, Langenhagen put themselves up 3 - 1 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to
M. Mohan, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home.
Halftime score was 3 - 1.
Langenhagen enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 77 percent of possession.
The coach gave his players an extra tactical briefing during the break, and after that Langenhagen had
solid organisation.
Things were going to get worse for the visitors.
B. Iudri squirmed through their central defence after 54 minutes, increasing the lead to 4 - 1.
DixieKnights's
P. Bluhm got himself booked for a foul.
E. Meehan unleashed a swerving effort from the right that the visitors' keeper did well to tip wide.
Langenhagen's
E. Meehan increased the lead to 5 - 1, after he saw his shot go between the legs of the advancing goalkeeper following some good play down the right wing after 76 minutes.
W. Sommerfeld increased the lead for Langenhagen to 6 - 1, getting a head onto a hooked ball from the right. The ball looked to have taken a deflection on the way in, but he's claiming it!
By now, the players in Langenhagen felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward.
81 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as
İ. Aykaş broke through, making the score 7 - 1 for Langenhagen.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Langenhagen, with 83 percent of the ball.
Most important Langenhagen player was
M. Mohan.
J. Weissenseel was a disappointment, however.
DixieKnights's top performer was clearly
J. Aydin.
However,
K. Forstandlechner made a disastrous appearance.
The match ends 7 - 1.
