Alferink showed great heart and had a good game. Brooklyn had a good opportunity to take the lead as T. Having been awarded a free kick in an awkward position after 23 minutes, Brooklyn did not go for a shot but instead fired the ball hard into the 6 yard box. After a brief tussle with his marker, P. Törnell was able to power the ball past the keeper to make the score 2 - 0. With 24 minutes played, Brooklyn's T. Alferink almost extended the lead, but his shot from the left glanced off the top of the bar to fall behind the net. Figgest's counterattacks created a good chance for J. Iltanen on the right after 25 minutes, but he could only look on with dismay as his strike rebounded off the crossbar. The teams went for the halftime break at 2 - 0. Brooklyn enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 72 percent of possession.

J. Puig was uncomfortable with the soggy pitch as he couldn't move the ball around with his usual grace. Brooklyn increased the lead as A. van Ginkel struck to make the score 3 - 0 after an attack from the left left him unmarked in front of the keeper. After this, you could see that the players of Brooklyn were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals. 82 minutes in, Brooklyn's P. Törnell received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first.
