It had rained all day, but 40150 hardy fans still made it out to Stade Lilian Thuram. The strategy for WeedTeam was to use their ability to press. Many thought J. Antigny ought to have been awarded a penalty 2 minutes into the game, as he went down trying to dribble around R. Ranieli after a determined run through the middle. 11 minutes in, WeedTeam's J. Figueres received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. In a fantastic display of determination, PYA's N. Baker forced himself to his feet, after an opponent viciously knocked him down. Thighs bulging, C. Obwegeser charged past the weaker players, seemingly oblivious to the rain. The pressing tactics used by WeedTeam were successful as the ball remained close to the half way line at all times. At 16 minutes played, P. Lépinay came in from the right with the intention of giving PYA the lead, but his rocket of a shot rattled the crossbar. WeedTeam's C. Obwegeser was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 17 minutes. G. Kornhaus's early cross saw the defenders caught out of position and the alert P. Lépinay was able to pounce and roll the ball past the hapless goalkeeper to score for PYA. 1 - 0. After 25 minutes, the visitors levelled the scores after N. Banchelli made it through the middle and struck home to make it 1 - 1. WeedTeam's ability to press all over the field frequently paid dividends. Halftime score was 1 - 1. PYA claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 54 percent.

PYA broke through on the left 49 minutes into the game, with J. Antigny firing in from an acute angle to give the home side a 2 - 1 lead. J. Navarro could have increased the lead after 55 minutes, but his shot hit the post after a nice combination in the middle of the park. It was a bad day for the usually speedy F. Dubut. The mud seemed to slow him down. 79 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as P. Lépinay broke through, making the score 3 - 1 for PYA. At this point, it was obvious that the players of PYA lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented. A. Oger of PYA received a yellow card after 80 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour. PYA solidified their lead at the 81 minute mark, as Y. Carton dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 4 - 1. WeedTeam managed to reduce the score to 4 - 2 as L. Halcón finished off a well-played combination from the left, easily carving through the defence. Always a threat, D. Raun tore past his marker and placed the ball right at the feet of the waiting P. Lépinay who should have easily scored for PYA, but the ball went wide. PYA enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 55 percent of possession.

The most dominating PYA player was without a doubt B. Grenier. J. Antigny turned in a dismal performance, however. J. Slavici performed admirably for WeedTeam. L. Bad was a disappointment, however. The match ends 4 - 2.
