Persson was booed thoroughly by the home crowd 28 minutes into the game, after he broke through the middle and scored, resulting in the visitors taking the lead. 0 - 1 was the score. F. Bognár received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 36 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 0 - 2. The Asarna fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early. The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 2. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Asarna, with 74 percent of the ball.

Asarna's A. Persson made it through the home team's defence on the right hand side 62 minutes into the match. After rounding the keeper, he only had to place the ball in the unguarded goal when a defender slid in and cleared the ball off the line. A. Persson increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley away after a pass from the right. 0 - 3. The players of Asarna now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle. After 78 minutes, Goodwon switched M. Pires with E. Goodwon's top performer was clearly C. van der Meijde. However, J. Richardsson made a disastrous appearance. A. Persson performed admirably for Asarna. S. Seidl turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 0 - 4.
