Clouds darkened the skies at Fox River as 38441 spectators turned up for the match. Sisebuto Cervantes was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Edgars Lukasevics and Lars Larsson. PBFC had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. Lineup: Człapała - Crevits, Juur, Morvan - Zeltzer, Rintamäki, Vega, Karpfinger, Barateiro - Oberschil, Cuartas.

A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Strikers. The following players took the field: Dahlsgaard - Drakmar, Mettes, Codina - Ribeiro, Avellí, Winder, Rubio Paz, Cerbaia - Colomer, Lintern.

5 minutes into the game, L. Lintern had a great chance to put his team ahead, but his kick from the left went wide. PBFC took the lead 27 minutes in, as F. Morvan broke through on the left and put the 1 - 0 shot just beyond the reach of the outstretched keeper. 32 minutes into the match the visitors levelled the score at 1 - 1 as F. Ribeiro struck home from a rebound off the crossbar, following a shot from the right. With 39 minutes played F. Cuartas almost put the home team one ahead on a cross coming in from the right, but the shot went just wide. PBFC took the lead after 41 minutes as a result of F. Cuartas's peach of a shot from the right hand side of the box - placed beautifully in the top corner. 2 - 1. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave F. Avellí from Strikers a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 42 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! The player down was C. Człapała. The PBFC bench looked worried for a while, but in the end he managed to get up. It was 2 - 1 at the break. PBFC had most of the ball, with 63 percent of possession.

PBFC solidified their lead at the 57 minute mark, as E. Oberschil dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 3 - 1. PBFC managed to extend their lead to 4 - 1 when A. Rintamäki cut in neatly from the left side and struck a fine shot past the away team's goalkeeper. The players of PBFC now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle. The referee showed PBFC's F. Vega the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. 67 minutes into the game, A. Winder had to leave the pitch due to a knee injury. In came D. Montañez. As the captain was no longer on the pitch, S. Codina took over the role of being the Strikers captain. 73 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as V. Crevits broke through, making the score 5 - 1 for PBFC. 81 minutes in, Strikers's L. Lintern received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. PBFC enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 64 percent of possession.

F. Cuartas performed admirably for PBFC. M. Zeltzer turned in a dismal performance, however. The most dominating Strikers player was without a doubt Á. Colomer. However, B. Dahlsgaard made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 5 - 1.
