Clouds darkened the skies at
CAB Arena as 12000 spectators turned up for the match.
Lance van Schenk Brill was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Fabrizio Cariboni and
Miloš Alimpić.
CAB started off with a 4-4-2 lineup.
They fielded: Bakhite - Werhani, Traoui, Essediri, Zakkar - Ben Ahmed, Mhadhbi, Bouheli, Yardani - Nasra, Quortobi.
Africain decided to use a 3-4-3 set up.
Starters: Jourdan - Valdés, Sadkowski, Cilóiz - Benzarti, Ben Mrad, Jawdai, Hadouchi - Marques, Rooij, Cornoiu.
Counter-attacking seemed to be the preferred strategy of Africain.
Africain's
T. Benzarti was dominating his wing and kept sending fine balls into the opposition's box -
S. Cornoiu managed to volley one of them into the net to make it 0 - 1 after 27 minutes.
The home crowd was not impressed when
W. Ben Mrad came in from the right, shooting hard to score after 32 minutes. Africain were now up 0 - 2.
33 minutes in, Africain's
T. Benzarti received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first.
After 35 minutes, a mistake by the home side's left defence allowed
A. Marques to get through. He outclassed the home side's keeper, adding another goal for the visitors. 0 - 3.
With 36 minutes played,
T. Benzarti nearly put the visitors another one up as he broke through in the middle and fired from just outside the box, but his shot passed just over the bar.
0 - 3 was the score after the first half.
Africain claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 67 percent.
With 47 minutes played, Africain put themselves up 0 - 4 after an attack from the right, caused by a defensive blunder. The scorer was
T. Rooij.
At this point, it was obvious that the players of Africain lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented.

T. Rooij was noted down as the scorer.
With 69 minutes played, seemingly due to lack of experience,
F. Sadkowski needlessly tripped an opponent just outside the penalty area, but the free kick that followed didn't succeed.
Africain increased their lead after 78 minutes when
A. Jawdai broke through on the right, upping the score to 0 - 7, much to the home crowd's dismay.
T. Quortobi of CAB was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle.
The referee signalled a penalty 81 minutes into the game following an offence which looked like it was outside the box.
M. Cilóiz knocked it home to make the score 0 - 8.

C. Zakkar the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge.
Africain enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 75 percent of possession.
CAB's best player was
F. Mhadhbi.
K. Essediri was a disappointment, however.
T. Rooij performed admirably for Africain.
However,
T. Benzarti made a disastrous appearance.
The match ends 0 - 8.
