The weather was pretty good, and a crowd of 53193 had shown up at Emirates Stadium for the match. Adam Ravn was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Patryk Kowal and Flurin Bethke. After 17 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave N. Angoares a chance to increase the lead for Phis, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 0 - 2. Sniborps's D. Le Boutillier was shown a yellow card after 21 minutes for slicing down an opponent. After 22 minutes Sniborps's A. Lucas had to be carried off on a stretcher in agony. F. Eades came in to replace him. The visitors' P. Tranquilo took advantage of a misunderstanding between the home side's goalie and centre backs 27 minutes into the match. 0 - 3 for Phis. By now, the players in Phis felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward. Phis's H. Ayach made it through the home team's defence on the right hand side 30 minutes into the match. After rounding the keeper, he only had to place the ball in the unguarded goal when a defender slid in and cleared the ball off the line. The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 3. Possession in this half belonged to Phis, who controlled the ball 51 percent of the time.

Although the whole team were struggling to impress, Sniborps's H. Sithech was singled out as being the problem as he was called off the pitch after 50 minutes. L. Jones was given a chance to change things around. 52 minutes into the game Sniborps broke through on the left wing and L. Jones managed to reduce the lead to 1 - 3. A drive down the left side allowed N. Angoares to get in close and score another goal for Phis after 59 minutes, taking the score to 1 - 4. The referee showed Phis's I. Sleiman the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. It took several tries, but Sniborps managed to break through on the left after 70 minutes, getting the ball to R. Nusum who easily reduced the lead to make the score 2 - 4. Some fine movement on the left led to a Phis goal after 83 minutes, making it 2 - 5. I. Sleiman was noted down as the scorer. P. Ikomi of Phis seemed to be floating in the air as he elegantly headed in to make the score 2 - 6 after a corner kick that was nicely executed by K. Mishima. Phis had most of the ball, with 52 percent of possession.

Most important Sniborps player was M. Heward. On the other hand, B. Atanacković's play was disheartening. I. Sleiman performed admirably for Phis. However, K. Khattab made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 2 - 6.
