Pokey 4 - 0 Vman

29-04-2012 18.00
Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 60000 to
Pikachu Palace.
Leandro Cadosch was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
William Refsnes and
Alfredo Oscar D'Alonso.
Pokey decided to use a 3-4-3 set up.
The following players had been chosen: Faulkner - Krajewski, Hamilton, Giraudeau - Hyer, Kupreenko, Ribas, Tuokko - Saarenmäki, Le Maguer, Abramski.
Vman started off with a 3-5-2 lineup.
The following players took the field: Anelli - Eckling, Raducki, Carlshöhe - Wellauer, Durić, Fuertes, Sønstebø, Drange - Duranteau, Sampayo.
After 14 minutes,
M. Hyer came in from the right, feinted, then sped past the off-balance defender to make the score 1 - 0, giving Pokey the lead.
After 16 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by
R. Abramski might have resulted in another goal for Pokey. However,
U. Anelli made a spectacular save.
Coming in from the right, Vman had a good opportunity to convert on a counterattack after 17 minutes, but
U. Eckling's attempt to finish was easily stopped.
With 28 minutes played, Pokey put themselves up 2 - 0 when the visiting defenders lost the ball to
P. Saarenmäki, who came up from the left and proceeded to coolly round the keeper and knock the ball home.
Vman breathed new life into the game with an opportunity to reduce the score after 29 minutes, but the home side's defenders cleared the ball on the line, after a long shot coming in from the left rebounded off the crossbar.
M. Hyer should probably have put his team up another goal after 31 minutes, but some great goalkeeping by
U. Anelli kept the visitors in the game.
The teams went for the halftime break at 2 - 0.
Neither team was controlling the possession at this point in the match, with the stats showing a 50:50 split.
P. Saarenmäki's speed was clear to see after 61 minutes, as he darted down the wing and released
R. Abramski who placed the ball into the back of the net to make the score 3 - 0.
Pokey solidified their lead at the 83 minute mark, as
A. Hamilton dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 4 - 0.
After this, you could see that the players of Pokey were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals.
A. Tuokko of Pokey was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle.
Some things can only be learned through experience, and
A. Hamilton should take his lesson to heart after nearly gifting Vman a goal with 86 minutes of the match played.
Vman claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 54 percent.
P. Saarenmäki performed admirably for Pokey.
A. Hamilton was a disappointment, however.
Vman's best player was
K. Sønstebø.
J. Wellauer on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The match ends 4 - 0.
