Dark skies made the crowd of 3406 at
La Parilla Arena a little nervous, but the rain held off.
Stanisław Nowacki was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Rafaelis Randys and
Naofumi Maita.
Parilla decided to use a 4-4-2 set up.
Starters: Kern-Pongratz - Ramos, Ancamilla, Manríquez, Gomez - Astudillo, Serey, Balboa, Mieres - Riquelme, Lautroup.
Godinez tactics involved an interesting 3-4-3 combination.
Lineup: Leizagoyen - Burzachechi, Yáñez, Roşu - Pirazzoli, Tupper, Sanhueza, Balog - Vallejos, Vitali, Fouillioux.
Godinez saw most attack opportunities on the wings.
Godinez took the lead after
E. Roşu curved a free kick into the net. 0 - 1
R. Burzachechi behaved like an inexperienced youth player after 11 minutes as he gave the ball away to
R. Lautroup. Lucky for him though, there was no goal.
After 14 minutes, Godinez's
P. Pirazzoli burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 2.
The players of Godinez now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle.
There was concern in the stands when, at the 29 minute mark, Godinez's
E. Roşu hit the ground hard, but he refused the attention of the trainer and rejoined his teammates on the pitch.
Parilla's
M. Riquelme was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 30 minutes.
0 - 2 was the score after the first half.
Godinez had most of the ball, with 55 percent of possession.
With the scoreboard showing that 59 minutes had been played, Godinez nearly put themselves up another goal after
E. Roşu came through on the left. Fortunately for the home crowd, the keeper made the save.
J. Ramos messed up a penalty shot after 67 minutes, the ball going miles wide.
A. Balboa of Parilla received a yellow card after 70 minutes for unsportsmanlike behaviour.
L. Fouillioux wanted to play on, but the Godinez coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 75 minutes into the game by
M. Vodarčík.
Godinez's
A. Vallejos made it through the home team's defence on the right hand side 83 minutes into the match. After rounding the keeper, he only had to place the ball in the unguarded goal when a defender slid in and cleared the ball off the line.
Godinez claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 59 percent.
The most dominating Parilla player was without a doubt
M. Mieres.
However,
K. Kern-Pongratz made a disastrous appearance.
Godinez's top performer was clearly
P. Pirazzoli.
D. Sanhueza was a disappointment, however.
The match ends 0 - 2.
