Globo 1 - 3 LEAGUE (376213887)

The crowd of 25014 turning up at Alberto Pomatta Sienra today were greeted with some nasty showers of rain. Roham Hossein khani was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Francesco Billaud and Emil Ivanov. Globo tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. The following players took the field: Pierrard - Quadrati, Stål, Léandri - Coeffier, Nyhkvist, Cortês, Binyamin, Martínez - Zaccardi, Sánchez.

A 4-4-2 alignment was the formation of choice for LEAGUE. Lineup: Laurovich - Kornum, Weisheimer, Thorn, Sankala - Silvestro, Tuomisaari, Banjac, Iacone - B. Tóth, De Mateo.

Globo took a creative approach on the field. It was an obvious ambition of LEAGUE to use their ability at attacking on the flanks. T. Binyamin spent most of the time in a heap on the ground today, his normally rapid movement hindered by the slippery pitch. The home crowd was not impressed by the fancy moves of LEAGUE's C. Weisheimer after 13 minutes. He converted a pass from the left for a goal, resulting in the visitors taking the 0 - 1 lead. It was almost a goal for Globo following S. Cortês's good header after a corner, it went just over the bar though. After 30 minutes, LEAGUE's M. Silvestro fell awkwardly, but was determined to stay in the match. That's the spirit! Attacking on the wings was the choice for LEAGUE, and they were successfully passing the ball from the middle to the wings to attack. Had it not been for one of the home defenders, R. B. Tóth would have put LEAGUE up another goal 32 minutes into the match with his audacious lob from the right wing. M. Silvestro didn't let the weather get him down and made some great moves on the pitch in spite of the rain. No matter how hard he tried, G. Zaccardi just couldn't get his shot past the visitors' right side defence after 40 minutes. It was 0 - 1 at the break. Globo enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 59 percent of possession.

In a well-rehearsed move, C. Quadrati delivered a free kick into the box for Globo. An attacker shaped to head the ball, distracting the keeper, but it avoided everyone and crept in at the far post! 1 - 1! M. Iacone would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise. A. Navazcuez entered the game for LEAGUE as the match clock showed 59 minutes. R. B. Tóth became the new LEAGUE captain. 60 minutes into the game, LEAGUE wanted to bring some new energy to their game. N. Banjac gave S. Pfaller a quick hug as he left the field. As the 70 minute mark approached, the LEAGUE coach decided it was time for a substitution. J. Sankala reluctantly made way for M. Eeckhout on the pitch. LEAGUE's A. Navazcuez was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 79 minutes. The terraces were silenced after 81 minutes when LEAGUE's C. Weisheimer put the guests ahead 1 - 2, following an attack on the right. When D. Thorn was badly injured by a couple of strong tackles after 83 minutes, LEAGUE fans were unhappy to discover that it was not possible to make a substitution. Globo's S. Cortês was shown a yellow card after 84 minutes for slicing down an opponent. After 85 minutes, a mistake by the home side's left defence allowed S. Pfaller to get through. He outclassed the home side's keeper, adding another goal for the visitors. 1 - 3. By now, the players in LEAGUE felt that victory was guaranteed and began to play it safe, focusing on defence and not risking too much going forward. After 87 minutes, B. Stål had a good opportunity to reduce the scoreline for Globo with a chance created through the middle, but wasn't cool enough. The ball went miles over the bar. The referee showed Globo's G. Zaccardi the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. Globo claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 55 percent.

The most dominating Globo player was without a doubt G. Zaccardi. G. Martínez turned in a dismal performance, however. M. Silvestro performed admirably for LEAGUE. H. Laurovich was a disappointment, however. The match ends 1 - 3.
