26160 spectators had found their way to
La Boka, despite the heavy rain.
Marcin Hordejuk was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Walter Steiner and
Toma Livadić.
Bokence had chosen a strategic 5-3-2 formation.
They fielded: Miccolis - Lázaro Serrano, Barrenechea, Zintu, Favero, Roccato - Biedroń, Martínez, Łasocha - Abreu, Tropeano.
A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Globo.
The following players took the field: Pierrard - Stål, Léandri, Quadrati - Coeffier, Nyhkvist, Cortês, Binyamin, Menéndez - Zaccardi, Giménez.
Bokence clearly had decided to counter-attack when they could.
A mistake by the home side's central defence after 3 minutes allowed
G. Zaccardi to score for Globo. The scoreboard now read 0 - 1.
6 minutes into the game, Bokence seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a
passable level of organisation.
L. Menéndez, who often relies on his speed, had a rotten day on the drenched grass.
After 37 minutes, Bokence's
S. Abreu fell awkwardly, but was determined to stay in the match. That's the spirit!
39 minutes in, Bokence appeared unsure on how to play and their organisation was only
inadequate.
Having been awarded a free kick in an awkward position after 40 minutes, Globo did not go for a shot but instead fired the ball hard into the 6 yard box. After a brief tussle with his marker,
A. Coeffier was able to power the ball past the keeper to make the score 0 - 2.
The players of Globo now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle.
After 41 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for
G. Zaccardi who increased Globo's lead to 0 - 3.
N. Giménez received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 42 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 0 - 4. The Globo fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early.
0 - 4 was the halftime score.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Globo, with 82 percent of the ball.
Despite his frustration resulting in the smashing of a few teacups, the coach of Bokence was able to get his message across, and raised Bokence's organisation to
solid.
L. Nyhkvist wanted to play on, but the Globo coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 46 minutes into the game by
R. Gaya.
The coach of Globo was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 46 minutes,
G. Bozoglian came on for
A. Coeffier.
The Globo players could smell victory in the air.
C. Quadrati wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for
J. Domínguez after 46 minutes.
With 54 minutes played,
G. Bozoglian nearly put the visitors another one up as he broke through in the middle and fired from just outside the box, but his shot passed just over the bar.
Bokence almost scored after a counterattack 55 minutes into the match, but
G. Zintu took a shot from the left that landed harmlessly in the side of the net.
After 56 minutes of game time,
N. Giménez had an excellent opportunity to add to the visitors' lead, clipping a volley hooked in from the right, but
P. Miccolis was in the right place and tipped the ball over for a corner.
After 61 minutes, Globo's
S. Cortês burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 5.
The rain made it hard for players like
J. Biedroń to show their technical control of the ball on this soggy day.
A drive down the left side allowed
G. Zaccardi to get in close and score another goal for Globo after 77 minutes, taking the score to 0 - 6.
This third goal completed a hattrick for
G. Zaccardi.
With 79 minutes played, Globo's well-worked indirect free kick caused havoc in the penalty area, and when the ball eventually fell to
B. Stål he gleefully slotted the ball home to make it 0 - 7.
Possession in this half belonged to Globo, who controlled the ball 79 percent of the time.
Bokence's best player was
D. Roccato.
P. Miccolis was a disappointment, however.
Most important Globo player was
G. Zaccardi.
M. Pierrard turned in a dismal performance, however.
The match ends 0 - 7.
