previous 2/10 next 4/10  Dragons 0 - 4 Crizackheads (376295695)

60680 spectators arrived at Mines of Moria, where weather conditions were pretty good for football. Elton Mendes Flores was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Sidónio Cunha and Kurt Labak. A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Dragons. Starters: Vähätalo - Pontone, Pihanperä, Steenman - Sullivan, Könitz, Villa, Queiró, Sanoy - Rodríguez, Kezić.

Crizackheads decided to use a 4-4-2 set up. Lineup: Regnier - Boari, Torrio, Breuker, Zegar - Rockwell, Karstensson, Melenas, Procner - Becker, Ziegler.

For their match strategy, Crizackheads had decided to use their ability to counter-attack whenever possible. Crizackheads took the lead 11 minutes into the game, making the score 0 - 1 after some elegant movement down the middle. F. Torrio was the scorer. The Dragons coach was desperate to reverse his team's fortunes in the game, and ordered his team to change strategy. With 17 minutes played, M. Becker nearly put the visitors another one up as he broke through in the middle and fired from just outside the box, but his shot passed just over the bar. O. Rodríguez was just a finger's breadth away from an equaliser for Dragons with a strike from the left, but N. Regnier managed to ward the shot off for a corner. With 29 minutes played, a quick exchange of passes on the left wing freed F. Torrio of Crizackheads to slip through the defence and score another goal for the visitors. That made the score 0 - 2. The referee showed Dragons's O. Rodríguez the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. After 39 minutes, a counter attack by Crizackheads was converted into a decent free kick opportunity. However, the indirect free kick routine was easily anticipated by the defenders. A textbook example of how to defend a free kick - the attackers were left with few viable options. Halftime score was 0 - 2. Dragons claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 62 percent.

E. Ziegler's speed is always a threat when he gets a little room to move, and 48 minutes into the match was no different as he broke free of his man to send a delightful through ball to M. Becker who knocked it in for Crizackheads. 0 - 3! After this, you could see that the players of Crizackheads were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals. As the game started to slip away for Dragons, the manager decided to change the tactical approach. K. Zegar stunned the crowd with a brilliant counterattack from the left, giving Crizackheads the goal to make it 0 - 4. The Dragons players listened closely to their manager, as he gave new tactical instructions for the team. Crizackheads's K. Zegar got himself booked for a foul. The home side worked their way through the middle and almost got one back when M. Kezić tried to sneak the ball past the keeper. N. Regnier was too alert for that! With 68 minutes gone, U. Karstensson suddenly found himself completely free on the right wing when a counterattack by Crizackheads caught their opponents by surprise. Only a great save by the opposing keeper prevented him from scoring. Unhappy with the result so far in the game, the Dragons manager used a brief break in play after 70 minutes to give the players new directives. Dragons enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 60 percent of possession.

Most important Dragons player was M. Kezić. G. Sullivan on the other hand, had a terrible day. Crizackheads's top performer was clearly E. Ziegler. However, C. Boari made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 0 - 4.
