A well placed corner kick from R. Barreto was followed by C. Ciancio's hard but accurate header. The well executed routine resulted in a goal for Deportivo, the score now 2 - 0. J. Salcedo slipped and slithered in the wet grass. His usual rapid runs were nowhere to be seen today. It was 2 - 0 at the break. Deportivo enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 51 percent of possession.

Deportivo's R. Barreto swung in a good chance from the left, but the visitors' defence were able to clear the ball. TUCANESFC's M. Matzenberg was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 55 minutes. L. Lopez Nogueira didn't let the weather get him down and made some great moves on the pitch in spite of the rain. Things were going to get worse for the visitors. R. Barreto squirmed through their central defence after 71 minutes, increasing the lead to 3 - 0. The players of Deportivo now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle. 74 minutes into the match, the visitors reduced the lead to 3 - 1 as a free kick by J. Walenkamp slunk past the home side's goalkeeper. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, A. Ricciardi got himself booked. The manager of Deportivo was not happy. L.
