Magazzini's early cross saw the defenders caught out of position and the alert L. Schveighardt was able to pounce and roll the ball past the hapless goalkeeper to score for SPAL. 0 - 3. M. Dali increased SPAL's lead to 0 - 4 with a superb free kick strike that flew in just under the far top corner. Confident in their lead, SPAL's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. After 40 minutes Brylle's R. Hoffman contracted a slight foot injury, but didn't want to leave the game. 42 minutes into the game, Brylle seemed a little tentative in their play as their organization fell to solid. The teams went for the halftime break at 0 - 4. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by SPAL, with 69 percent of the ball.

The coach gave his players an extra tactical briefing during the break, and after that Brylle had solid organisation. Some beautiful play by SPAL set up J. Boekweg in a good shooting position after 54 minutes, but E. Deppe made a great save on the low hard shot. L. Schveighardt wanted to play on, but the SPAL coach had other ideas, and he was replaced 60 minutes into the game by V. Rotondo. The coach of SPAL was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 70 minutes, E. Olaizola came on for J. Boekweg. Content with how the game was proceeding, the SPAL coach let D. Weitzer replace M. Dali after 70 minutes. U. Kunte of Brylle was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. 80 minutes in, Brylle appeared unsure on how to play and their organisation was only solid. 81 minutes into the game a free kick by E. Olaizola found its way through the home side's poorly assembled defensive formation, making SPAL's lead 0 - 5. SPAL had most of the ball, with 74 percent of possession.

The most dominating Brylle player was without a doubt L. ó Ceallacháin. E. McMillan was a disappointment, however. Most important SPAL player was J. Cordero. However, F. Pilotto made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 0 - 5.
