(377242268)

07-03-2012 12.30
The 1628 spectators at
El Vao were in for an afternoon of sunshine.
Iuri Villa was the appointed referee.
Lolita! decided to use a 3-5-2 set up.
Starters: Gabilondo - Sanaksenaho, Mosquera, Xholi - Ashkenazi, Villapadierna, Dalbratt, Atance, Vaikko - Valencia, Martínez.
Masters tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination.
Lineup: Nesvik - Parči, Fiačan, Mikulášek - Arrigo, Návara, Furmánek, Valko, Titěra - Tammelin, Mboma.
Lolita! displayed their ability to play creatively.
Today, Masters's strategy involved concentrating on the flanks for their attacks.
Proving his experience,
H. Tammelin scored 0 - 1 for Masters after putting some pressure on the opposing defence at a critical moment.
Some fine movement on the left led to a Masters goal after 25 minutes, making it 0 - 2.
P. Mboma was noted down as the scorer.
R. Titěra dispatched a majestic long shot 26 minutes into the match, but missed the goal by a few metres.
31 minutes into the game Lolita! broke through on the left wing and
D. Xholi managed to reduce the lead to 1 - 2.
Lolita!'s
D. Mosquera got himself booked for a foul.
After 33 minutes, Masters's
P. Mboma burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 1 - 3.
At this point, it was obvious that the players of Masters lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented.
It was obvious that Masters had instructions to attack on the wings instead of in the middle.
Had it not been for one of the home defenders,
H. Valko would have put Masters up another goal 38 minutes into the match with his audacious lob from the right wing.
The home side worked hard to get through the middle and as a result, had a good chance of getting one back as
J. Atance tried lifting the ball over keeper
V. Nesvik. Unfortunately, the ball went just over the bar.
1 - 3 was the halftime score.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Masters, with 55 percent of the ball.
The intense heat forced
R. Mikulášek into making some errors because he couldn't seem to keep up with the others.
Lolita!'s
R. Ashkenazi found himself alone on the left side 79 minutes into the match and laid down a perfect shot - right into the arms of the keeper!
Several players seemed a little dazed by the warm weather, and were repeatedly tricked by the clever and agile
K. Furmánek.
After 83 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave
P. Mboma a chance to increase the lead for Masters, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 1 - 4.
At that,
P. Mboma was noted down for a hat trick!
Lolita! supporters cheered as good work down the right got the ball to
R. Villapadierna who reduced the visitors' lead after 85 minutes to 2 - 4.
After 86 minutes, a mistake by the home side's left defence allowed
H. Valko to get through. He outclassed the home side's keeper, adding another goal for the visitors. 2 - 5.
After several obvious shirt pulling incidents,
S. Parči got himself booked. The manager of Masters was not happy.
The home team's supporters got excited again when
L. Martínez broke through the visitors' central defence and caught their keeper off guard, making it 3 - 5.
Masters claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 53 percent.
Lolita!'s top performer was clearly
L. Valencia.
B. Gabilondo was a disappointment, however.
Masters's best player was
H. Tammelin.
On the other hand,
R. Mikulášek's play was disheartening.
The match ends 3 - 5.
