Clear skies welcomed the 39643 spectators who had made their way to Chopfus locusta Arena. Eugen Lazãr was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Josef Nachbaur and Gerardo Bruggisser. Sarasin's shot sailed wide after his break down the right. This was a good period for the visitors, with several opportunities to take the lead, particularly when O. Bong slipped through the defence on the right to come up alone against M. Mayen, but the home side's keeper showed his lightning reflexes. Some good play on the left wing created an opportunity for the visitors 33 minutes into the match, and C. Roccatagliata wasn't about to let it go by. He got past the defenders and fired a shot that the keeper just missed. 0 - 1 for the visitors. A. Hinger broke through on the right, upping the score to 0 - 2, much to the home crowd's dismay. After 86 minutes, Vorwaerts's lack of experience resulted in the team's loss of their edge at the end of the game. Possession in this half belonged to Vorwaerts, who controlled the ball 70 percent of the time.

Chopfus's top performer was clearly L. Guyenon. L. Håkansson turned in a dismal performance, however. Q. Anspach performed admirably for Vorwaerts. However, M. Valdés made a disastrous appearance. The match ends 0 - 2.
