previous 6/10 next 8/10  Lerranópolos 3 - 6 Saez (377539066)

Weather conditions were fairly good for football, and L.A. Stadium saw a crowd turnout of 21260. Brisco Kieffer was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Andreas Josefsson and Trond Berg. Lerranópolos had chosen a strategic 4-4-2 formation. Starters: Klimovičs - Frydenlund, D´Etigny, Mocella, Hellebrekers - Covarrubias, Woneem, Yaşa, Accietto - Evangelista, Shipp.

Saez tactics involved an interesting 3-4-3 combination. They fielded: Daldos - Rye, Gick, Khudyakov - Güldan, 費凱 (Feikai) , Rancaño, Rusanov - Bartning, Frommholz, Brandt.

Today, Lerranópolos's strategy involved concentrating on the flanks for their attacks. Saez took the lead after 18 minutes making the score 0 - 1. T. Gick placed the ball out of reach for the home side's keeper after a fine move, coming in from the left. 20 minutes into the game, Saez seemed to suffer a certain amount of confusion and they fell to a poor level of organisation. 21 minutes into the match, Lerranópolos's F. Evangelista maneuvered his way around the opposition on the left flank, delighting the crowd with his twists and turns. The effort paid off as the ball found the back of the net, evening the score at 1 - 1. Some good play on the left wing created an opportunity for the visitors 27 minutes into the match, and O. Frommholz wasn't about to let it go by. He got past the defenders and fired a shot that the keeper just missed. 1 - 2 for the visitors. With 32 minutes played, E. Mocella of Lerranópolos fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave H. Bartning from Saez a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 37 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient! After 40 minutes, Saez's T. Gick burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 1 - 3. Halftime score was 1 - 3. Possession in this half belonged to Saez, who controlled the ball 51 percent of the time.

The coach gave his players an extra tactical briefing during the break, and after that Saez had passable organisation. T. Gick increased Saez's lead to 1 - 4 with a superb free kick strike that flew in just under the far top corner. This third goal completed a hattrick for T. Gick. After 57 minutes O. Frommholz made a speedy advance and dropped the ball to H. Bartning who shuffled it past the keeper. The score was now 1 - 5. It was obvious that Lerranópolos had instructions to attack on the wings instead of in the middle. With 58 minutes played, O. Yaşa was very close to reducing the score for Lerranópolos with a low drive from the left, but a defender stuck his foot out just in the nick of time, blocking the shot to a corner. Content with how the game was proceeding, the Saez coach let R. Aizsilis replace 許. 費凱 (Feikai) after 60 minutes. The home crowd were delighted when S. Woneem scored with a header after an attack from the right, making the score 2 - 5. But did he use his hand? That'll be one for the pundits to talk about after the game, that's for sure! H. Bartning received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 65 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 2 - 6. The Saez fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early. After 68 minutes Saez's T. Rye contracted a slight foot injury, but didn't want to leave the game. H. Bartning left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 70 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead. I. Sánchez was the replacement. The Saez players could smell victory in the air. D. Rancaño wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for T. Skurstenis after 70 minutes. Lerranópolos had a brilliant opportunity to reply as S. Accietto received a high ball from the right, striking the ball in the air. Only P. Daldos's reflexes saved him. 78 minutes into the game Lerranópolos broke through on the left wing and L. Hellebrekers managed to reduce the lead to 3 - 6. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Lerranópolos, with 58 percent of the ball.

S. Woneem performed admirably for Lerranópolos. However, G. D´Etigny made a disastrous appearance. The most dominating Saez player was without a doubt I. Sánchez. T. Rye was a disappointment, however. The match ends 3 - 6.
