DIAVOLI 0 - 2 Gamera
(377658476)

20-03-2012 19.10
Clear skies welcomed the 191 spectators who had made their way to
Angel Arena.
Roberto Carlos Doriva was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Claus Bo Holmstrup and
Leif-Enar Jokelainen.
A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for DIAVOLI.
The following players took the field: Wern - Vešligaj, Matyushchenko, Levälampi - Bielke, Miščević, Nazaré, Sycz, Marsaglia - Purokuru, Panaseth.
Gamera tactics involved an interesting 3-4-3 combination.
The following players had been chosen: Krynicki - Abreu, Freuler, Ferster - Vasajari, Cruz, Uzan, Petraru - Dautzenberg, Bert, Ravera.
Good work by the DIAVOLI defensive line after 7 minutes produced a good counterattack chance, which cut elegantly down the middle of the pitch and found
R. Matyushchenko alone in front of the goal, but his shot whistled just wide.
Some good play on the left wing created an opportunity for the visitors 22 minutes into the match, and
D. Bert wasn't about to let it go by. He got past the defenders and fired a shot that the keeper just missed. 0 - 1 for the visitors.
28 minutes into the game, Gamera worked the left side industriously creating several opportunities to add to their lead, but just couldn't apply the finishing touch.
J. Ravera came close to extending the visitors' lead when he found himself completely unmarked in front of the goal after a pass through the middle. He tried to lift the ball over
L. Wern but overcooked it and hit the bar instead.
After several obvious shirt pulling incidents,
V. Sycz got himself booked. The manager of DIAVOLI was not happy.
0 - 1 was the halftime score.
Gamera had most of the ball, with 56 percent of possession.
The bench was restless, and with 46 minutes passed DIAVOLI's coach gave
E. Niederlehme the opportunity the player had been hoping for.
P. Panaseth reluctantly left the field.
DIAVOLI needed a fresh pair of legs on the field, and after 46 minutes
V. Sycz made way for
G. Giordanengo.
J. Nazaré was handed the DIAVOLI captain's armband.
With 46 minutes played, the DIAVOLI coach decided a substitution may help turn the game around.
T. Ledermueller came on,
R. Matyushchenko had to leave the fray.
After the ball was lifted in from the left,
M. Dautzenberg was on his own in the home side's penalty area and should have scored after 59 minutes, but missed, probably due to lack of concentration.
The home keeper was stunned 68 minutes into the match when he misjudged the free kick by
O. Freuler and dived in the wrong direction. The visitors increased the lead to 0 - 2.
Had it not been for one of the home defenders,
J. Cruz would have put Gamera up another goal 71 minutes into the match with his audacious lob from the right wing.
DIAVOLI's
L. Wern refused to leave the field after injuring his achilles tendon after 75 minutes.
This part of the game was a standoff between the teams in terms of possession.
DIAVOLI's top performer was clearly
V. Purokuru.
T. Ledermueller on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The most dominating Gamera player was without a doubt
O. Freuler.
Y. Uzan turned in a dismal performance, however.
The match ends 0 - 2.
