Clouds darkened the skies at Westfalenstadion as 1107 spectators turned up for the match. Ivan Mihaylov was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Krister Bokskär and Emmanuel Dousset. That was far too lenient! Ballspielverein took the lead 31 minutes in, as B. Asan broke through on the left and put the 1 - 0 shot just beyond the reach of the outstretched keeper. With 32 minutes played, G. Di Pasquale of Ballspielverein fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. Involucion were close to putting the equaliser away after 33 minutes as the opposing defence lost control of the ball to V. Cargnello in a scuffle towards the left of the goal, but in the end the ball was cleared over the dead ball line. V. Cargnello finished off a quick charge from the left of the field by chipping the ball just past the home side's keeper, making the score 1 - 1 39 minutes into the match. The home crowd was not impressed by the fancy moves of Involucion's G. Vidallé after 41 minutes. He converted a pass from the left for a goal, resulting in the visitors taking the 1 - 2 lead. 1 - 2 was the score after the first half. Possession in this half belonged to Involucion, who controlled the ball 54 percent of the time.

After 50 minutes, Ballspielverein switched N. van den Eijnde with B. Hajdini, hoping for a quick impact on the pitch. G. Vidallé left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 73 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead. D. Cacavano was the replacement. The bench was restless, and with 75 minutes passed Ballspielverein's coach gave H. Blumauer the opportunity the player had been hoping for. U. Faboumy reluctantly left the field. V. Cargnello of Involucion took advantage of a mistake on the home side's right after 81 minutes which increased the away team's lead to 1 - 3. At this point, it was obvious that the players of Involucion lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented. Involucion increased their lead after 85 minutes when S. Barragan broke through on the right, upping the score to 1 - 4, much to the home crowd's dismay. L. Virgil of Involucion was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. J. Giampieri could have put his team up another goal 89 minutes into the game, after a rush down the left, but his closing shot hit the post. Involucion claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 57 percent.

Ballspielverein's top performer was clearly G. Di Pasquale. H. Blumauer turned in a dismal performance, however. Most important Involucion player was J. Laava. On the other hand, E. Dolz's play was disheartening. The match ends 1 - 4.
