previous 2/10 next 4/10  Albión 2 - 4 Raging (377990243)

Clouds darkened the skies at Dr. Amilcar Falco as 1144 spectators turned up for the match. Nunzius Renfer was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Ludvig Grimberg and Víctor Roldán. Albión tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. The following players had been chosen: Trinidad - Couto Costa, Pastor Merino, Pizzarro - Perkka, Ballesteros, Buscaglia, González, Brum - Kalliala, Tinoco.

Raging started off with a 3-5-2 lineup. Lineup: Castellani - Ruckes, Schroetter, Bernabe - Žanickauskas, Rondeau, Leikam, Bernard, Garmisch - Chiacchella, Bagensky.

Albión clearly preferred using their ability to attack in the middle. The Albión free kick 2 minutes into the match seemed wasted, as the shot was both short and off target. But was this actually a plan? The ball landed at the feet of A. Couto Costa, who was completely unmarked in the box. That's 1 - 0! The home team will be cursing E. Žanickauskas for weeks; he finished off a great pass from the left, knocking it past the keeper without a problem. The match was level at 1 - 1 after 7 minutes. After 13 minutes, a well-worked counterattack by Raging on the right presented an easy opportunity in front of the goal that was duly converted by A. Leikam to make it 1 - 2. With 26 minutes played, R. Chiacchella nearly put the visitors another one up as he broke through in the middle and fired from just outside the box, but his shot passed just over the bar. 31 minutes in, Raging's T. Garmisch received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first. The crowd was on its feet 32 minutes into the match, as Albión's Y. Kalliala found himself unmarked in front of the goal after a dash up the left side. He calmly put away the 2 - 2 equaliser. 2 - 2 was the halftime score. This part of the game was a standoff between the teams in terms of possession.

Raging's R. Chiacchella gave the visitors a 2 - 3 lead after 51 minutes with a superb strike from the right. The referee showed Albión's E. Ballesteros the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. The player down was E. Žanickauskas. The Raging bench looked worried for a while, but in the end he managed to get up. A. Leikam increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley away after a pass from the right. 2 - 4. 82 minutes into the match, A. Leikam came through the middle and almost added to his team's lead, but the shot went wide. Neither team were able to dominate possession this half.

Albión's top performer was clearly I. González. However, K. Perkka made a disastrous appearance. Raging's best player was F. Bernard. B. Ruckes was a disappointment, however. The match ends 2 - 4.
