The weather was pretty good, and a crowd of 1511 had shown up at
Lipska Arena for the match.
Cornelus Crisan was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Bert Spangberg and
Filipe Eigenheer.
Powislanka started off with a 4-4-2 lineup.
Lineup: Flejsborg - Lokamskis, Luna, Górzny, Kawiak - Petra, Antoniewski, Neuwirth, Wanat - Sudnik, Warzyński.
A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for Kleine.
Starters: Han - Choi, Cheseaux, Lee - Bojkowski, Dantas, Kilb, Shapiro, Lee - Milonakos, Dargaud.
Kleine mostly ignored the flanks in favour of their ability to attack in the middle.
The visitors were very close to gaining the lead with a marvellous free kick after 10 minutes, but
T. Flejsborg made a beautiful one-handed save.
Speedy
R. Sudnik tried one of his patented rushes 21 minutes into the game, but
E. Cheseaux was just as fast and averted the attack.
Having been awarded a free kick in an awkward position after 23 minutes, Kleine did not go for a shot but instead fired the ball hard into the 6 yard box. After a brief tussle with his marker,
Y. Milonakos was able to power the ball past the keeper to make the score 0 - 1.
After 29 minutes, an incisive pass through the middle gave
I. Dargaud a chance to increase the lead for Kleine, and he did not disappoint. The score was then 0 - 2.
I. Dargaud was, after 36 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors' lead with a well placed diving header after the ball had looped into the centre, but the home side's keeper
T. Flejsborg made the save.
Halftime score was 0 - 2.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Kleine, with 68 percent of the ball.
Y. Milonakos received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 48 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 0 - 3. The Kleine fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early.
After 51 minutes, Powislanka switched
R. Sudnik with
T. Jouis, hoping for a quick impact on the pitch.
The referee showed Kleine's
G. Bojkowski the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge.
Kleine came close to extending their lead as
I. Dargaud delivered a low effort on goal from the right after 61 minutes, but the angle was too narrow and the shot went harmlessly into the side netting.
Powislanka needed a fresh pair of legs on the field, and after 71 minutes
M. Neuwirth made way for
P. van Ginneken.
P. van Ginneken became the new Powislanka captain.
S. Kawiak challenged the visitors' central defence eagerly, producing a good chance 78 minutes into the game as he went for a through ball. But, as so many times before, the guests' defensive efforts got the best of it.
After 81 minutes, Kleine's
B. Dantas burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 4.
Kleine had to make a substitution after 82 minutes.
I. Dargaud limped off the field and was replaced by
H. Strumane.
After 83 minutes Powislanka's
T. Jouis contracted a slight foot injury, but didn't want to leave the game.
Kleine had most of the ball, with 66 percent of possession.
Powislanka's best player was
P. van Ginneken.
R. Warzyński was a disappointment, however.
Most important Kleine player was
Y. Milonakos.
On the other hand,
G. Choi's play was disheartening.
The match ends 0 - 4.
