(378328766)

18-04-2012 04.00
Clouds darkened the skies at
Loftus Road as 50100 spectators turned up for the match.
Carl Waters was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
David Parreño and
Leo Gâlcã.
All of
New South Wales was shut down for the day, as fans of both clubs came to the derby.
Rangers tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination.
They fielded: Zinsmeister - Satrup, Ragnfeldt, Hille - Upton, Zuvela, Hawkesford, Bramhall, Woe - Kaman, Dervos.
Kals had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation.
Starters: Raja - Davies, Menem, Kepert - O'Connor, Maric, Gumble, Warlow, Bushaway - Flachsbinder, Hawker.
The guests took the lead 5 minutes into the match, after a right-side attack resulted in
D. Bushaway scoring to make it 0 - 1.
Some fine passing in the middle of the pitch, carving open the away defence, should have led to a goal for Rangers, but
G. Dervos's shot went over the bar.
After the ball was lifted in from the left,
M. Flachsbinder was on his own in the home side's penalty area and should have scored after 23 minutes, but missed, probably due to lack of concentration.
After 25 minutes,
R. Satrup got through on the right and was very close to equalising for the home side, but didn't get the shot away.
The head of
S. Kaman connected with a corner kick after 26 minutes, and the ball ended up with
F. Hawkesford of Rangers who blasted the ball into the net, making the score 1 - 1.
After 28 minutes, Rangers's
H. Ragnfeldt fell awkwardly, but was determined to stay in the match. That's the spirit!
It was 1 - 1 at the break.
Kals claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 52 percent.
75 minutes in, Kals's
E. Kepert received a yellow card for going into a challenge studs first.
80 minutes into the game, Kals wanted to bring some new energy to their game.
A. Warlow gave
L. Manzoor a quick hug as he left the field.
As the 80 minute mark approached, the Rangers coach decided it was time for a substitution.
F. Hawkesford reluctantly made way for
F. Newman on the pitch.
R. Satrup was ever so close to scoring after an excellent corner was beautifully flicked on by
H. Ragnfeldt, but the ball bounced off the post to safety.
Some great play up the middle by Rangers led to a chance for
J. Bramhall to score after 83 minutes, but the shot hit the crossbar.
Some good play on the left wing created an opportunity for the visitors 87 minutes into the match, and
B. Hawker wasn't about to let it go by. He got past the defenders and fired a shot that the keeper just missed. 1 - 2 for the visitors.
Content with how the game was proceeding, the Kals coach let
W. Jedinak replace
M. Flachsbinder after 87 minutes.
The Kals coach was visibly pleased with the score so far, but still ordered a few tactical changes 87 minutes into the game.
With 87 minutes played, after a good run down the left,
J. Bramhall went down looking for a penalty after a challenge from the visitors' right fullback, but the referee waved play on, and later warned him for diving.
The coach of Kals was happy with the game so far, but still wanted to change the line up. After 89 minutes,
A. Jansson came on for
D. Bushaway.
Possession in this half belonged to Kals, who controlled the ball 52 percent of the time.
Rangers's top performer was clearly
S. Kaman.
F. Newman was a disappointment, however.
L. Maric performed admirably for Kals.
On the other hand,
A. Jansson's play was disheartening.
The match ends 1 - 2.
