71750 fans braved the pouring rain at Vejen Epoke. Abel Coelho was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Malte Kresmer and Patrik Magnusson. Vejen tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. They fielded: Holst - Frost, Andersen, Johansen - Stadsholt, Dyg Jelle, Quốc Dương, Kirkeby, Jovanović - Bukhave, Thorning.

Lejre decided to use a 2-5-3 set up. The following players took the field: Suszczewicz - Ansamaa, Lleras - Nedkov, Krstajić, Duarte, Huţan, Aslanzadə - Laučys, Corvaglia, Vandahl.

V. Andersen spent most of the time in a heap on the ground today, his normally rapid movement hindered by the slippery pitch. A mistake by the home side's central defence after 16 minutes allowed T. Aslanzadə to score for Lejre. The scoreboard now read 0 - 1. A scuffle developed as players from both sides clashed following a tussle in the centre of the field 20 minutes into the match. After regaining order and consulting his linesman, the referee called Vejen's B. Dyg Jelle to one side and produced a red card for the player. J. Lleras of Lejre had to be helped off the pitch as an injury meant he was unable to finish the game. Z. Małozięć came in to finish the match. The crowd roared in delight as L. Frost finished off a spectacular series of passes through the middle to even the score for Vejen 37 minutes into the match. 1 - 1. After 38 minutes, Lejre put themselves up 1 - 2, as G. Laučys finished off a strike from the left with a real cannonball of a shot. A defender managed to keep the ball from crossing the goal-line after a curling shot coming in from the right from T. Aslanzadə after 41 minutes, and prevented Lejre from going up another goal. B. Krstajić was having a great game - if anything the pouring rain seemed to be spurring him on! C. Huţan increased the visitors' lead by putting a volley away after a pass from the right. 1 - 3. C. Huţan received a delicate pass through the home side's central defence after 44 minutes, and chipped it past the flailing keeper to score making it 1 - 4. The Lejre fans went wild, whilst the home fans started to think about leaving early. 1 - 4 was the halftime score. Lejre claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 54 percent.

G. Laučys could have put his team up another goal 50 minutes into the game, after a rush down the left, but his closing shot hit the post. The home crowd was not impressed when B. Krstajić came in from the right, shooting hard to score after 53 minutes. Lejre were now up 1 - 5. Against a lesser team, Lejre could very well have succeeded with their smart indirect free kick routine after 71 minutes. A trio of passes took the ball all the way past the defenders, but by then the intended recipient was already blocked off and the keeper could make a leisurely save. The visitors added to their lead 75 minutes into the game, after a sensational penalty kick by Lejre's J. Ansamaa slid just past the home keeper. 1 - 6. At this point, it was obvious that the players of Lejre lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented. Lejre enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 53 percent of possession.

Most important Vejen player was K. Bukhave. V. Andersen on the other hand, had a terrible day. Lejre's best player was B. Vandahl. Z. Małozięć was a disappointment, however. The match ends 1 - 6.
