NuSe 5 - 1 EOM (378402178)

Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 1808 to Laamila. Mitja Zavrl was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Juan Carlos Panussi and Fabio Sardo. NuSe decided to use a 4-5-1 set up. Lineup: Hautoniemi - Närvi, Salenius, Iso-Ahola, Viitaniemi - Räty, Lehtelä, Ruskamo, Kärppä, Vakhitov - Batrachenko.

A 3-4-3 alignment was the formation of choice for EOM. The following players took the field: Liberda - Alatalo, Selkimäki, Siekkinen - Hurtta, Hoikka, Delvaux, Vihiniemi - Höög, Paasi, Kelhälä.

NuSe displayed their ability to play creatively. T. Höög hit the corner kick straight to the keeper, but it was mishandled, giving EOM's I. Vihiniemi an easy chance to knock it in for 0 - 1. After a fatal mistake from the away team's right side defence 33 minutes into the match, an alert J. Närvi bagged the ball for NuSe, levelling the score to 1 - 1. The visitors' central defence should have had no trouble clearing the pass to J. Iso-Ahola, but the NuSe player managed to shrug them off and fired a low shot past the keeper to give his team the lead. 2 - 1! Halftime score was 2 - 1. Neither team was controlling the possession at this point in the match, with the stats showing a 50:50 split.

52 minutes into the game, EOM had difficulty finding their positions and their organisation dropped to solid. The NuSe players could smell victory in the air. J. Kärppä wasn't in a hurry to leave the field as he was substituted for J. Reittu after 54 minutes. 61 minutes in, EOM appeared unsure on how to play and their organisation was only passable. Y. Batrachenko left the field with a smile on his face as he was substituted 62 minutes into the game, as his team was in the lead. T. Korpua was the replacement. 63 minutes into the game, EOM were awarded a penalty and a chance to draw level. J. Alatalo, probably due to the gravity of the situation, seemed unable to stay focused, and shot wide. With the clock showing 64 minutes played, a great pass from the defensive line of NuSe resulted in a counterattack that was smoothly brought under control by S. Lehtelä in the centre of the opposition's penalty area, but his finish went high. NuSe's S. Vakhitov was dominating his wing and kept sending fine balls into the opposition's box - T. Korpua managed to volley one of them into the net to make it 3 - 1 after 69 minutes. After this, you could see that the players of NuSe were more interested in killing time than scoring more goals. Things were deteriorating for the away team as NuSe scored another to make it 4 - 1 after a left side attack resulted in a goal for J. Ruskamo after 72 minutes. There was concern in the stands when, at the 79 minute mark, NuSe's T. Räty hit the ground hard, but he refused the attention of the trainer and rejoined his teammates on the pitch. 80 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as J. Iso-Ahola broke through, making the score 5 - 1 for NuSe. 83 minutes into the game, EOM seemed a little tentative in their play as their organization fell to inadequate. EOM had most of the ball, with 54 percent of possession.

NuSe's best player was S. Vakhitov. However, J. Reittu made a disastrous appearance. The most dominating EOM player was without a doubt T. Höög. C. Delvaux turned in a dismal performance, however. The match ends 5 - 1.
