previous 1/10 next 3/10  United 5 - 0 Fabius FC (378557223)

A brilliantly sunny day had enticed a crowd of 2620 to Stade de Tourbillon. Heribert Grois was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Davide D'Alessandro and Mathijs ter Horst. United tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination. Lineup: Ehrensperger - Beiver, Gargeaud, Fernandes - Marrucio, Kurunsaari, Le, Bouille, Favre - Simek, Nielsen.

Fabius FC had chosen a strategic 5-3-2 formation. The following players had been chosen: Scheraggi - Duarte, Petsas, Fux, Lesire, Trentzsch - Orenlind, Sánchez Angulo, Reginato - Wultsch, Öncel.

The sun seemed to put A. Fernandes in a great mood, and he showed off his technical skills all match long. United made a bid to take the lead as a ball coming in on the right hand side left S. Simek completely alone with keeper A. Scheraggi, who made a spectacular block. After several obvious shirt pulling incidents, R. Lesire got himself booked. The manager of Fabius FC was not happy. E. Marrucio caused the crowd to go mental with his goal up the middle after 38 minutes. This gave United the 1 - 0 lead. It was 1 - 0 at the break. United claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 79 percent.

United solidified their lead at the 58 minute mark, as K. Le dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 2 - 0. After 61 minutes, K. Le put United ahead 3 - 0 when he rose to head in a cross from the right wing. 63 minutes into the match, the visitors' central line of defence had to look on as A. Fernandes broke through, making the score 4 - 0 for United. Confident in their lead, United's players relaxed and focused more on defending the lead than increasing it. The sunny day didn't make things easy for J. Kurunsaari who didn't seem his usual powerful self on the pitch. Cheers filled the stadium as K. Le broke through the visitors' central defence to put away the ball to increase the lead to 5 - 0 to United. By then K. Le had scored three goals - a hat trick! United had most of the ball, with 79 percent of possession.

United's top performer was clearly S. Simek. G. Beiver was a disappointment, however. The most dominating Fabius FC player was without a doubt S. Öncel. R. Lesire on the other hand, had a terrible day. The match ends 5 - 0.
