Torpedo 1 - 5 Sican
(378651790)

24-04-2012 19.30
Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 3251 to
Mestni stadion Jaušje.
Mattias Liljendahl was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Barnabás Bock and
Darío Rodriguez.
Torpedo tactics involved an interesting 3-5-2 combination.
Starters: Funa - Kordan, Gneo, Martinez - Laharnar, Cunder, Zakrajšek, Repa, Rojc - Paesschesoone, Petrunin.
Sican started off with a 3-5-2 lineup.
The following players had been chosen: Capece - Ballón, Massarenti, Vélez - Stauber, Verbeken, Estland, Balcerak, Guzmán - Kuess, Otić.
Torpedo's
Ž. Laharnar was dominating his wing and kept sending fine balls into the opposition's box -
A. Petrunin managed to volley one of them into the net to make it 1 - 0 after 32 minutes.
Sican's coach was not happy when
E. Balcerak missed a penalty 33 minutes into the match.
Some brilliant football from the visitors' right wing resulted in a levelling of the score as Sican's
Z. Otić put the ball in the onion bag after 38 minutes to make it 1 - 1.
Sican's
Z. Otić gave the visitors a 1 - 2 lead after 41 minutes with a superb strike from the right.
Sican increased their lead after 42 minutes when
E. Balcerak broke through on the right, upping the score to 1 - 3, much to the home crowd's dismay.
Some fine movement on the left led to a Sican goal after 43 minutes, making it 1 - 4.
H. Estland was noted down as the scorer.
At this point, it was obvious that the players of Sican lowered the tempo and became more defensively oriented.
It was 1 - 4 at the break.
Sican enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 67 percent of possession.
Torpedo's
G. Paesschesoone was shown a yellow card after 52 minutes for slicing down an opponent.
The Sican free kick 69 minutes into the match seemed wasted, as the shot was both short and off target. But was this actually a plan? The ball landed at the feet of
F. Kuess, who was completely unmarked in the box. That's 1 - 5!
Sican's
F. Kuess made it through the home team's defence on the right hand side 79 minutes into the match. After rounding the keeper, he only had to place the ball in the unguarded goal when a defender slid in and cleared the ball off the line.
80 minutes into the game, Sican worked the left side industriously creating several opportunities to add to their lead, but just couldn't apply the finishing touch.
Possession in this half belonged to Sican, who controlled the ball 72 percent of the time.
Torpedo's top performer was clearly
A. Petrunin.
T. Repa turned in a dismal performance, however.
Most important Sican player was
E. Balcerak.
On the other hand,
A. Capece's play was disheartening.
The match ends 1 - 5.
