Unfortunately for Pulspforde, D. Lothring was injured when the game became more physical, and he had to leave the field. M. Egas replaced him. 0 - 2 was the halftime score. Pulspforde claimed to have seen most of the ball, and the statistics agreed with them - possession being 61 percent.

The Pulspforde players spent the break getting a rerun of the team's tactical organisation and regained a solid organisation when the game started again.
