(378716914)

24-04-2012 18.25
Fairly good weather for football had drawn a crowd of 3961 to
Zur Plumpe.
Raul Ugarte was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Clemente Gullo and
Eduard Vaidla.
A 3-4-3 alignment was the formation of choice for Schlue33.
They fielded: Rougeot - Schroll, Torso, Schiller - Pflitsch, Kövesfalvi, Spraider, Lubitz - Möschel, Kiebacher, Faust.
Mortimers decided to use a 5-2-3 set up.
The following players took the field: Mojani - Pousada, Petrilli, Ibarburen, Venhuizen, Robledillo - Zupan, Iannuzzi - Esquerdo, Obregón, Badea.
Counter-attacking seemed to be the preferred strategy of Mortimers.
Schlue33 made a bid to take the lead as a ball coming in on the right hand side left
N. Kiebacher completely alone with keeper
k. Mojani, who made a spectacular block.
A swift counterattack by Mortimers resulted in a free kick that
Ó. Obregón elegantly twisted into the goal - 0 - 1!
The referee showed Schlue33's
U. Lubitz the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge.
Schlue33's
N. Kiebacher made an attempt at equalising 22 minutes into the match, coming in from the right, but the ball hit the post and the defence easily cleared the rebound.
After 33 minutes a combination in the middle resulted in a through ball for
A. Esquerdo who increased Mortimers's lead to 0 - 2.
A marvellous Schlue33 effort on the right-hand side resulted in a goal after 35 minutes by
J. Schiller, making the score 1 - 2.
36 minutes into the game,
H. Spraider came close to levelling the score with a dangerous shot from the centre of the area that went just over the bar.
Good work by the Mortimers defensive line after 37 minutes produced a good counterattack chance, which cut elegantly down the middle of the pitch and found
T. Venhuizen alone in front of the goal, but his shot whistled just wide.
1 - 2 was the halftime score.
Possession in this half belonged to Schlue33, who controlled the ball 56 percent of the time.
A lack of experience caused
A. Torso to make a difficult dribble close to dangerous opponent
Ó. Obregón of Mortimers, who took the opportunity to score making it 1 - 3.
The home team's supporters got excited again when
J. Möschel broke through the visitors' central defence and caught their keeper off guard, making it 2 - 3.
A handball in the penalty area gave the home team a penalty 67 minutes into the match, and
Á. Kövesfalvi was able to score, taking the scoreline to 3 - 3.
U. Lubitz of Schlue33 got sent off for kicking the ball after the whistle, a completely uncalled for move, earning him his second yellow card of the game.
After 72 minutes, Mortimers's
A. Esquerdo made his way through the middle and nonchalantly placed the ball out of the keeper's reach, putting the visitors up 3 - 4.
After 81 minutes, Mortimers's
Ó. Obregón burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 3 - 5.
By then
Ó. Obregón had scored three goals - a hat trick!
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Mortimers, with 54 percent of the ball.
N. Kiebacher performed admirably for Schlue33.
On the other hand,
U. Rougeot's play was disheartening.
Most important Mortimers player was
Ó. Obregón.
A. Badea was a disappointment, however.
The match ends 3 - 5.
