Clear skies welcomed the 3410 spectators who had made their way to
Krumshoes Center.
Jens Wüthrich was the appointed referee with assistance provided by
Hazim Maric and
Jimmy ''Robba'' Westerskog.
Krumshoes tactics involved an interesting 4-3-3 combination.
The following players had been chosen: Duray - Roméro, Bar, Chenard, Maillard - Jones, Drugeon, Bocage - Crespy, Huard, Meriah.
BiGBanG decided to use a 3-5-2 set up.
Lineup: Polverini - Aguilera, Sambunjak, Ben-Haim - Törmikoski, Ersun, Lebret, Valerio, Kaplama - Whitt, Canaydın.
Krumshoes fans held their breath as
L. Meriah scampered down the left side. He successfully avoided all challenges and cracked home the shot for 1 - 0!
15 minutes into the match the visitors levelled the score at 1 - 1 as
M. Sambunjak struck home from a rebound off the crossbar, following a shot from the right.
BiGBanG took the lead after 33 minutes making the score 1 - 2.
S. Whitt placed the ball out of reach for the home side's keeper after a fine move, coming in from the left.
Krumshoes's
D. Bar was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 36 minutes.
BiGBanG increased their lead after 40 minutes when
T. Törmikoski broke through on the right, upping the score to 1 - 3, much to the home crowd's dismay.
It was 1 - 3 at the break.
BiGBanG enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 52 percent of possession.
A marvellous Krumshoes effort on the right-hand side resulted in a goal after 50 minutes by
L. Meriah, making the score 2 - 3.
After several obvious shirt pulling incidents,
Y. Maillard got himself booked. The manager of Krumshoes was not happy.
A well placed corner kick from
J. Drugeon was followed by
J. Chenard's hard but accurate header. The well executed routine resulted in a goal for Krumshoes, the score now 3 - 3.
M. Valerio would have preferred to play on, but his coach decided otherwise.
A. Navarro entered the game for BiGBanG as the match clock showed 69 minutes.
With 72 minutes played, BiGBanG's well-worked indirect free kick caused havoc in the penalty area, and when the ball eventually fell to
S. Whitt he gleefully slotted the ball home to make it 3 - 4.
With 75 minutes played, a quick exchange of passes on the left wing freed
S. Whitt of BiGBanG to slip through the defence and score another goal for the visitors. That made the score 3 - 5.
At that,
S. Whitt was noted down for a hat trick!
BiGBanG came close to extending their lead as
H. Ersun delivered a low effort on goal from the right after 78 minutes, but the angle was too narrow and the shot went harmlessly into the side netting.
The opposing supporters gave the referee an earful when he only gave
L. Meriah from Krumshoes a yellow card after a mistimed challenge from behind 79 minutes into the game. That was far too lenient!
BiGBanG's
J. Aguilera went down after a savage challenge, but could continue playing after some medical attention.
Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by BiGBanG, with 61 percent of the ball.
The most dominating Krumshoes player was without a doubt
L. Meriah.
On the other hand,
D. Bar's play was disheartening.
BiGBanG's best player was
T. Lebret.
U. Ben-Haim on the other hand, had a terrible day.
The match ends 3 - 5.
