1053 spectators had come to Palatine Stadium this cloudy day. Jacinto Domínguez was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Juha Pelonen and Ismael Casasola. WithL had chosen a strategic 5-2-3 formation. The following players had been chosen: Primo - Curry, Glennane, Gudgeon, Chaner, Kemp - Zantin, Garnett - Vázquez, Linehan, Faison.

Marmalade decided to use a 3-5-2 set up. Starters: Klapica - Heit, Anghel, Walthart - Curran, Williams, Wilson, Hare, Borovinić - Doyle, Buchan.

16 minutes into the match, Marmalade nearly took the lead, as D. Buchan broke through on the right. E. Primo made the save, however. The referee showed WithL's T. Linehan the yellow card after a particularly nasty challenge. WithL's K. Garnett was shown a yellow card after 37 minutes for slicing down an opponent. Unfortunately for Marmalade, M. Wilson was injured when the game became more physical, and he had to leave the field. M. Jamieson replaced him. After 40 minutes, K. Garnett sent the corner kick right to C. Chaner who headed it sharply past the keeper. 1 - 0! Always a threat, F. Vázquez tore past his marker and placed the ball right at the feet of the waiting T. Linehan who should have easily scored for WithL, but the ball went wide. With 42 minutes played, the visitors almost levelled the score. Q. Heit shot a hard curved free kick, striking the post. Some brilliant football from the visitors' right wing resulted in a levelling of the score as Marmalade's Q. Heit put the ball in the onion bag after 43 minutes to make it 1 - 1. The teams went for the halftime break at 1 - 1. Possession in this half belonged to Marmalade, who controlled the ball 65 percent of the time.

WithL created a good opportunity to score 57 minutes into the match when G. Zantin's hooked ball from the left created a scuffle in front of the goal, and the visitors' defenders had a hard time clearing the ball. WithL's F. Vázquez left the field after 69 minutes because of a nasty blow to the shin. His replacement was N. Cargile. As the captain was no longer on the pitch, G. Zantin took over the role of being the WithL captain. Marmalade had most of the ball, with 69 percent of possession.

As neither team was able to break the deadlock before the end of regular play, the teams took to the field again for extra time. L. Curry of WithL was booked for kicking the ball away after the whistle. Marmalade's K. Klapica refused to leave the field after injuring his achilles tendon after 100 minutes. W. Walthart was suffering from cramp and had difficulty keeping up as the opposition pushed forward. N. Cargile had no problems getting through and hit home to make the score 2 - 1. Extra time over, WithL were the victors! WithL's top performer was clearly M. Faison. However, G. Zantin made a disastrous appearance. The most dominating Marmalade player was without a doubt G. Doyle. On the other hand, R. Williams's play was disheartening. The match ends 2 - 1.
