2751 spectators had come to Team Taikon Arena this cloudy day. Luca Alfieri was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Miguel Canela and Silvestre Barriuso De Miguel. Taikon had chosen a strategic 3-5-2 formation. They fielded: Hermansson - Oskarsson, Tullquist, Sunesson - Knaus, Bergsten, Hörnmar, Nordsten, Hansson - Sjöér, Möllerquist.

A 3-5-2 alignment was the formation of choice for BLUEGRANA. The following players took the field: Karapetiani - Ralea, Zick, Roig - Potetz, Bedukadze, Pkhaladze, Bochev, Lomidze - Subari, Mekvabishvili.

V. Hörnmar was the first to reach the corner kick, but his header was blocked by the keeper. However, Taikon's U. Nordsten managed to get hold of the rebound and tucked the ball into the empty net. 1 - 0 U. Nordsten increased the lead for Taikon to 2 - 0, getting a head onto a hooked ball from the right. The ball looked to have taken a deflection on the way in, but he's claiming it! A great save by keeper N. Karapetiani after 21 minutes kept the visitors in the game after V. Hörnmar struck from the left with a real cannonball. V. Knaus had a fantastic opportunity to put Taikon up another goal 25 minutes into the match, but he fired just over the crossbar. Taikon solidified their lead at the 27 minute mark, as A. Bergsten dribbled the ball through the opposing central defence and scored to make it 3 - 0. The players of Taikon now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle. It was 3 - 0 at the break. Taikon enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 78 percent of possession.

Taikon's C. Möllerquist swung in a good chance from the left, but the visitors' defence were able to clear the ball. With 54 minutes played, B. Bedukadze of BLUEGRANA fell dramatically just outside the penalty area. However, the referee was unimpressed, and booked him for diving. After 58 minutes, a couple of quick and successful challenges followed by a shot from just outside the penalty area by C. Möllerquist might have resulted in another goal for Taikon. However, N. Karapetiani made a spectacular save. BLUEGRANA's M. Potetz was shown a yellow card for standing over the ball and blocking an opponent's quick free kick after 61 minutes. After 63 minutes, A. Bergsten put Taikon ahead 4 - 0 when he rose to head in a cross from the right wing. M. Sunesson's lack of experience almost gave BLUEGRANA a goal after 71 minutes, but the shot went right into the keeper's arms. Taikon had most of the ball, with 79 percent of possession.

U. Nordsten performed admirably for Taikon. E. Tullquist was a disappointment, however. The most dominating BLUEGRANA player was without a doubt M. Roig. On the other hand, I. Mekvabishvili's play was disheartening. The match ends 4 - 0.
