Counter-attacking seemed to be the preferred strategy of Visclubje. Pworters used their ability to concentrate their attacks in the middle of the pitch, rather than on the wings. Some good play on the left wing created an opportunity for the visitors 25 minutes into the match, and A. Wymeersch wasn't about to let it go by. He got past the defenders and fired a shot that the keeper just missed. 0 - 1 for the visitors. E. Jęsiek was uncomfortable with the soggy pitch as he couldn't move the ball around with his usual grace. The crowd roared in delight as H. Billerbeck finished off a spectacular series of passes through the middle to even the score for Visclubje 32 minutes into the match. 1 - 1. After 34 minutes, Visclubje were awarded a free kick as their counter attack broke down. The set piece was lifted over the top, intended to open up the defence. However, the target man seemed to be taken by surprise, and could not reach the ball before it crossed the line for a goal kick. Halftime score was 1 - 1. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Pworters, with 55 percent of the ball.

Visclubje took the lead after 49 minutes as a result of O. Prüfer's peach of a shot from the right hand side of the box - placed beautifully in the top corner. 2 - 1. With the clock showing 51 minutes played, a great pass from the defensive line of Visclubje resulted in a counterattack that was smoothly brought under control by M. Glam in the centre of the opposition's penalty area, but his finish went high. A lot of people in the terraces claimed the penalty resulting in Pworters's P. Maye equaliser for 2 - 2 was a mistake by the referee. He did, however, have a very good view of the situation from his position. At 67 minutes played, M. Glam came in from the right with the intention of giving Visclubje the lead, but his rocket of a shot rattled the crossbar. 70 minutes into the game, O. Katan was a hair's breadth away from giving Pworters the lead with a shot from over on the left. A prompt block by N. Müller saved the home team that time. Visclubje's H. Billerbeck had to watch the rest of the game from the sidelines, after twisting his ankle with 73 minutes having been played. A. Dürschlag was the replacement. Pworters enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 55 percent of possession.

As neither team had managed to win, extra time was called. Visclubje had a good opportunity to take the lead as T. Duros came up the left side, but he struck the ball weakly and it went straight into the arms of B. Keymolen. M. Bodiroga was in the clear after breaking the offside trap following a Visclubje counterattack from the left after 105 minutes. His neat finish made the score 3 - 2. Extra time over, Visclubje were the victors! The most dominating Visclubje player was without a doubt A. Dürschlag. M. Glam was a disappointment, however. Most important Pworters player was O. Katan.
