Dark skies made the crowd of 1485 at Estadio da Cidade a little nervous, but the rain held off. Kamil Zubrzycki was the appointed referee with assistance provided by Gary Marler and Jan Barstad. Cidadão took a creative approach on the field. Ostkreuz took the lead after H. Hollenstein curved a free kick into the net. 0 - 1 A well placed corner kick from H. Hollenstein was followed by S. Kinyua's hard but accurate header. The well executed routine resulted in a goal for Ostkreuz, the score now 0 - 2. Ostkreuz increased their lead after 14 minutes when H. Hollenstein broke through on the right, upping the score to 0 - 3, much to the home crowd's dismay. The players of Ostkreuz now seemed to think the job was done and acted more defensively, just waiting for the ref to blow the final whistle. 25 minutes into the match, the visitors put themselves ahead 0 - 4 as C. Lieb finished off an attack from the left with a spectacular scissors kick. With 38 minutes played, a quick exchange of passes on the left wing freed G. Boiger of Ostkreuz to slip through the defence and score another goal for the visitors. That made the score 0 - 5. H. Hollenstein was, after 39 minutes, almost able to extend the visitors' lead with a well placed diving header after the ball had looped into the centre, but the home side's keeper É. Prêtre made the save. 0 - 5 was the score after the first half. Ostkreuz enjoyed most of the ball, as they maintained 81 percent of possession.

G. Boiger behaved like an inexperienced youth player after 48 minutes as he gave the ball away to J. Xereu. Lucky for him though, there was no goal. With 59 minutes played, Ostkreuz put themselves up 0 - 6 after an attack from the right, caused by a defensive blunder. The scorer was S. Kinyua. After 69 minutes, a mistake by the home side's left defence allowed C. Lieb to get through. He outclassed the home side's keeper, adding another goal for the visitors. 0 - 7. With the scoreboard showing that 74 minutes had been played, Ostkreuz nearly put themselves up another goal after H. Hollenstein came through on the left. Fortunately for the home crowd, the keeper made the save. After 76 minutes, Ostkreuz's M. Vliegen burst through the central defence and let loose a cannonball of a shot, scoring for 0 - 8. Possession in the forty-five minutes was dominated by Ostkreuz, with 83 percent of the ball.

Most important Cidadão player was C. García Sala. Á. Furlan turned in a dismal performance, however. The most dominating Ostkreuz player was without a doubt S. Kinyua. On the other hand, G. Königsstollen's play was disheartening. The match ends 0 - 8.
